No way Draisaitl is an overpay. He has multiple 50 goal seasons, SIX 100point seasons (COVID season pro rated) and at the end of the day he's going to go down in history as one of the best hockey players of all time. Guys like him and McDavid you pay them what they are worth. It's a lot easier to fill out a roster with complimentary players but superstars you need to draft and develop yourself. Guaranteed if he went to free agency next year he would have gotten more than $14m.

I still can't believe the Gaudreaus are gone. Like, the way that they went out has settled in my mind, but it just can't fathom that somebody as young and as talented as Johnny is no longer with us. I've said my thanks to him and Matthew in various mourning videos' comment section. This time, my thanks go to Cole Caufield for honoring Johnny with the number change. I'm a Rangers / Senators multi-fan, but I'll continue root for Caufield, as I have been for some time.

Leon has been the best playoff performer the last few years just by pure points. Paying 14m to have the best playoff forward in the league isn't too much.

Barrie is just fine offensively. But cant defend. That's why edmonton moved on. He would essentially need to be insulated in a way.
