  1. While I agree with Lou’s policy of the players not looking like slobs, he could lighten up with those requirements and that’s part of the reason why top tier players don’t want to play for the isles. As for Ish and Ho Sang, I was too busy working when Ho Sang was relevant so I don’t know much about him other than the 2x I saw him play with the isles, he was lazy on the forecheck and that’s not conducive to staying in the NHL. As for Ish, the isles mishandled him. His height shouldn’t matter if he’s putting the puck in the net and if he can forecheck, look at Dobson, he gets pushed around by anyone and everyone but he stayed with the big club ! Hopefully Lou and his kid are outta end of this season if not sooner, the organization has been set back too many years with Lou at the helm ! FYI, I’ve been an isles fan since 77 and enough is enough with the dysfunction !

  2. Perhaps Alex' comment about GM and coach is more about Ruslan's experience in the AHL. I say this because he never had a chance to develop any sort of relationship with Lou, Lane or Patrick. My feeling is when he arrived in Bridgeport, he was directed to eat right, work out and bulk up. That never happened, and his tiny frame wouldn't have lasted long in the NHL. He's better off in the WHL, where they play a softer, European style of Hockey.

  3. I was asking the same question, why the hell did they draft him when he was obviously not a player who fit in with the Islanders' schemes. The only thing I can think of is maybe Lou saw him as another Sergei Brylin type. Lou had a lot of success with Brylin, but the only things Brylin had in common with Iskhakov was they were both Russian and both short. But Brylin wasn't small. He was built. Iskhakov is tiny. Smaller even than Gaudreau. If Lou saw Iskhakov and thought "Brylin", he needs to consider retirement. I don't know if this is what Lou thought. I'm just spit balling because the whole thing makes no sense. But it is the Islanders, so…

  4. Lou is a terrible drafter. Drafted Dobson and a whole lot of nothing else. He was likely even using the Snow regime's info for the Dobson pick since he took over right before anyway. Then he drafts a guy that had (apparently) 0 chance of ever playing for us, since he overperformed expectations (in my opinion) to get more than a 1 game look. Were we so desperate to play Fasching and Martin in the lineup that this guy couldn't have seen the ice a couple more times this season? At the end of the day, this probably ranks low on the list when it comes to Lou fumbling assets, but it still kinda sucks to see.

  5. There are a bunch of undersized players in the nhl. And the point you made of Lou drafting him is something I don’t get either. I really hope and pray this is Lou’s last season as gm then we can get the grueling rebuild started.
