Those were the days. When our prospect pool was so shallow this guy was one of our most promising assets.

I was pretty stoked when he first joined. I remember him having issue with 1 eye. Considering that, I appreciate what he achieved.

I always felt so bad for him in that 2020-21 debut against the Habs… literally the nightmare of all nightmares to start your season. Like three or four giveaways from behind the goal line, failed breakouts, and eventually a goal against in like an extended 3-minute shift. Travis Green basically made up his mind on him right then and there and he spent the entire year on the taxi squad. Just a complete waste of his time that season was. Ironic, since he finished the game picking up a point lol.
Damn, so many of the Benning-era pickups just got so screwed by their nonexistent development program before getting thrown to the wolves on some of the worst iterations of the Vancouver Canucks and being told « sink or swim »

I do. He is bouncing around the ahl producing great numbers. Can’t figure out why the nhl never wanted him, also can’t figure why he hasn’t gone to Russia or Europe to get paid?
I remember fans thinking that we had the next Matt Cooke on our hands for a bit. He had a very short run, but showed some promise. It’s sad that never worked out.

Rafferty was overhyped due to barren cupboards but I am also a believer that he was screwed by the Benning no development system. Think Rafferty could have at minimum become an NHL 7th dman journeyman like a Biega if we had any semblance of a development system in place for guys turning pro in the AHL.
Those were some mediocre times
