Raymond a devancé Seider et l’ASP a remporté le prix du meilleur avenir. Vraiment désolé que ce vote soit raté dans le décompte des voix et qu’il soit arrivé si tard, j’ai été submergé par le travail scolaire
Are we doing it the same as yesterday, roster player and prospect? Or are we back to all time and current?
Roster player: Veleno
Prospect: Hanas
If we’re going all time/current:
All time: Svechnikov
Current: Veleno
It’s kind of tough to pick this one and decipher between wasted potential or it simply being a bad pick (like taking McCollum in the first round, debatably the Zadina pick since he fell hard in the draft)
xenonwarrior666
Mantha for recent.
Zandia always put in the work but couldn’t put it together at the pro level.
Mantha was a lazy bum.

I’m still trying to figure out how Larkin is even on the list for « Best » when we’ve had Yzerman, Howe and Lindsay.

This has got to be Mantha.
Yes, Zadina had more hype as a draft prospect, but he never, showed potential of a star player when he got close to/in the NHL.
Mantha is/was a physical freak that truly looked like he could dominate. In his 4 goal game, he looked like he could do anything he wanted. However his effort was never good enough, and he literally wasted all that potential. Dude literally got benched at times for half assed effort.

Current: Jonatan Berggren, highly expecting him to be traded.
All time: Igor Grigorenko – he had a lot of hype as a steal draft pick in 2001, wasted potential due to his career derailment from the car accident in 2003.
While Mantha, Zadina, and Vrana are the likely leading choices of the group, Ville Leino, Tomas Jurco, Tom McCollum, Evgeniy Svechnikov, & Filip Larsson all come to mind as well.

Current wasted potential: probably Veleno
All time? Zadina, Pulkkinen, Brendan effing Smith, Jakub Vrana

What about Konstantinov. Wasn’t at all his fault but wasted Norris trophy potential.

I’m gonna throw Damien Brunner out there, not sure if he qualifies or not, but that season he spent with us felt like he was gonna be a big deal. And then he chose not to sign here, he could probably see the era that the Wings were about to endure, so I can’t really say he made the wrong choice for himself. But he didn’t do well in Jersey and was out of the league after only two seasons.

Danny DeKeyeser.

He won’t win this and he shouldn’t, but I always think about AA’s speed and finish and wonder what he could have been if he could have paired that with being a complete player.
Spinal_Orangutan
Konstantinov. Just hitting his prime and taken out by a tragedy. Could you have imagined him and Lidstrom playing together until 2012? We definitely would have had the cup in 09 with him on the D.
Caboose119z
Mantha all day every day.
Current maybe Veleno as he was exceptional status. Not deserved but nobody seems to currently be pissing it away.

Not the correct answer, but I can’t help thinking of the teletubby

Igor Grigorenko. Not his fault at all but a car accident derailed his career — he could have been a third EuroTwin.
Also in the “not his fault” category is Jiri Fischer.

Mantha and Zadina are both votes for all time, but people are making it sound like Zadina is a current player.
Mantha is probably the best all time answer, but for currently I think it’s Rasmussen. Maybe it’s not common knowledge but he was a serious goal scorer in juniors, he just hasn’t really found that same ability in the NHL. He’s not a bad player, it’s just the best answer for the current roster.

If Jurco is a redditor he’s probably thanking god people have forgotten about him. So much fuckin skill
Kerem9_8
I understand everyone who says Zadina/Mantha/Svech/Vrana, but for me its Konstantinov. He was a rising star dman when the accident happened. He likely would have been one of the best dman in the league for a a few more years if the accident never happened
