1. Coaching curse of the jack Adam's award..the sketchy goalkeeper injury stuff…the bottom D pairing..won't be great. Blood clot Brock might have off and on problems. Won't be last year or better. 😢

  2. Im excited for the new guys. Sprong is a good goal scorer but his defense leaves much to be desired. How will he work in Tocchet's system?

  3. I liked the signing of Sprong. Im just interested in seeing how hes going to work out. Huge offensive upside but his defence definitely needs work. Im hoping we dont have another Kuzmenko incident

  4. If they have the same kinda season they had last season. IMO it’ll depend on two things. Themko and their shooting. The nucks were just absolute snipers and was a majority of their scoring. That and their bottom six production which isn’t made up of such shooters. Themko is a obvious given

  5. I’m not a fan of Rick Tocchet as coach, he’s too authoritarian for my liking BUT if I’m wrong and he continues to get his team to buy in, then they should be a cup contender.

  6. bains is not nhl calibre. already 23 and embarassed himself last season.

  7. Canucks probably finish around the same point total. While their shooting percentage was high last year, their special teams were a bit below average. If those two things balance out, they should be around 100 points.

  8. I think Vancouver makes a deep playoff run. There´s a lot to like with this team. If there was a Canadian team that were to finally win the Cup, I would be OK with Vancouver doing it.

  9. For that money and term, Hronek needs to anchor his own pairing. He shouldn't need to be propped up by Hughes.

  10. Canucks were on a absolute roll to start the season with Ian Cole & Noah Juulsen in the lineup everyday, people are way too worried about Forbort/Desharnais. Plus I won't be shocked if Allvin makes a move in November/December again to boost the bottom 4

  11. Lindholm and big Z were acquired mid season and didn’t do too much in the regular season but playoffs they were debatably the best while our main guys weren’t doing as much (besides boeser) but now that they had that experience and the fresh start knowing their potential they’ll do even better this year

  12. Foote and gonchar need some recognition for their work with the dmen, so im not that worried about the bottom pairing defense.

  13. Pettersson to break 100 pts, DeBrusk will break career highs (35 goals, 35 assists for 70 pts) as Pettersson's main winger. Sprong becomes a legit threat to complete the line and finish with 55 pts on this line!

  14. Big question is Pettersson, and it's reached the point where all the knitpicking of who he's going to be lined up with is irrelevant: he just must produce. DeBrusk seems great but he had serious issues in Boston. What's gonna turn things around for him in Vancouver? That would have to be our greatest coach(imo) in the league and right pairings, etc. If he turns out poorly and Lindholm is on fire in Boston as one of the greatest two-way players in the League, then we know how our off-season dealings went.

Overall I grade our off-season moves a solid B. I've heard all the reasons why we shouldn't have kept Lindholm but it could have been our worst mistake letting him go. Edmonton had a solid A or even A+ until the offersheet debacle; I still put them at A-. The biggest factor Vancouver has going for them is that "most" of their core now has invaluable playoff experience. But the two teams that they faced last year would eat them for lunch now. Hopefully they face different teams in the first two rounds at least to have a chance. Just opinions. Obviously, who knows what happens during the regular season? Great video and synopsis!

  15. Myers and Soucy on the second pair is fine assuming Soucy doesn't miss a ton of games again this season. Will miss Zado though, he keeps the star players safe from the other team's "energy guys" when they start running around a little too much.

I don't think anyone is expecting a 50/50 split but I would be quite happy seeing Demko play fewer regular season games and letting Silovs handle more work.

  16. I think having a line of Petey hogs and debrusk is the way to go I see petey having a 110 point season with Jake with a 40 goal and hogs with a 30 goal season

  17. Going to miss JD and even more so Heino dude has been a great all arounder for the B's, Forbs… ya who cares about him
