  1. At that time the Rangers had Jim Troy down in New Haven playing for the nighthawks .after the game a reporter asked Ferguson if he should have called up Troy and he said yes

  2. They gooned it up as usual; the Flyers with Fotiu on the sidelines.Hoyda picked on a guy several inches smaller than him. But Johnstone had a lot of heart. He could handle himself. But Hoyda was too

  3. How Davidson wasn't given a game misconduct for being the 3rd man in, twice, is a mystery. Incidentally the Flyers won the game 3-0. Another shutout for Bernie.

  4. Im not a Flyers fan but i spent half my life at the Spectrum and that place was magical for hockey.

  5. McPhee beat Bridgman too another one who hide from fotiu after nick destroys Wilson and holmghen

  6. I see Johnstone is not so tough if he can't pair off with a guy who's never fought before. Hoyda wasn't tough at all and still kicked the crap out of him. Bridgman just beat the hell out of guys for recreation. Cheap Rangers player starts the brawl with his stick, then Rangers trying to jump 3rd man in when their guys are being pummeled for it.

  7. Flyers must have been scared during this brawl…..the awful thought of perhaps meeting the Canadiens. No skill, no speed, no defence,…and , Montreal way too tough for the Flyers.

  8. I have forgoten what punching bags the flyers of this era were well i forgot to mention im a bruins fan. Mel bridman was a genuine tough guy. Holmgren schultz dupont behn wilson always made sure they fought people like keith magnuson dale rolfe. Sad part was guys like terry oreilly larry robinson clark gillies and many other real tough guys played in the league. If you dont believe me you can see it all on you tube
