If you’re Krebs, why are you signing in Buffalo? The organization has done their best to not give him a chance to succeed. The moves they made this offseason made it clear they don’t see him as a starting NHLer. So he can sign a deal and be stuck as the 12th/13th forward and go into his next contract negotiations without any numbers.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Krebs’ camp isn’t even negotiating and have made it clear he wants out. But Krebs is a good dude and won’t make a fuss.

I bet he turns out to be a grinder… …with someone else.

He’s very obviously the odd man out. Surely GMKA is trying to trade him so he doesn’t have to do the negotiating with him on salary. Unless he’s taking league minimum you can trade him for a pick and feel good about it

This doesn’t sound great. It looks like Krebs is the 13th forward this season, but still a valuable piece. He can play anywhere in the bottom nine, still has potential and is a good team guy. Would love to see this get worked out where everyone is happy.
Also, making the Eichel trade look that much worse.

I would think that Krebs would be Lindy’s type of player. One of the few that showed that he had any balls

I still want to know how far apart Kevyn and Krebs are on the contract. Which obviously wouldn’t be talked about. I’m assuming Kevyn would be willing to give Krebs around $1.3 for a 1-2 year bridge. So how much could Kreb’s side be asking that they can’t get a deal done? They can’t expect a lot when his play hasn’t really been there.

I hope that Krebs and GMKA can work out a contract that works for both sides.
