  1. I remembered this Stanley Cup Final in Highschool, lots of the teacher staff were wearing Canucks and Bruins Jerseys. The riot was a horrible thing to watch. As a die hard Canucks Fan, I would never ever riot my city. Talk about disgusting behaviour. I got Henrik Sedin's Jersey too, talk about a great career with 1070 Points.

  2. Here in Britain hockey is never mentioned in media, except in 2011 when Canuck fans rioted. Not the best way to advertise the game! Which was a shame as it was an excellent post season and as i was living with a Canucks fan so nearly a great summer too. 😉

  3. Ahh 2010-2011, the season 9 year old me became obsessed with hockey. Was so excited when my Sabres made the playoffs. I’d like to feel that again next April pretty please.

  4. I still say the Canucks were closer and had a better team in 94 than this season. Even though the Canucks were up 3 games to 2, every game Boston won in this series wasn’t close whereas every game in Vancouver with the exception of game 7 was. All the Bruins needed was one good road game to win which they got. In the series Vs the Rangers the Canucks gave them everything they could handle and I firmly believe if not for Brian Leetch the Canucks would probably win that cup.

  5. I'd correct your pronunciation of Cory Clouston, but really, we're not going to be seeing him again 😆

  6. For those interested in the history of the NHL…I would suggest looking up July 19th 2010 because it is an important moment in the history of the salary cap and a General Manager's(Lou Lamoriello) attempt to circumvent said cap. For our host….If you are going to publish a "historical" piece then you include ALL of the historical information….Not just the information you find interesting because….believe or not…in this instance your opinion is…irrelevant!

  7. Man, I was so irritated with the Islanders claiming Nabokov. More so with Detroit losing to San Jose… again…

  8. You know, it's funny you have the Bruins win the Cup in 2011, because I'm pretty sure they canceled the series after Game 6. No winner that year. Weirdest thing.

  9. I was a diehard Bruins fan in the '80s and the '90s. Finally beating Montreal in the playoffs in 1988 is my happiest moment as a hockey fan because I lost interest during and after the 2004-05 lockout. I did watch the 2011 playoffs, but it simply didn't mean as much to me. It wasn't until 2017 or 2018 that I resumed watching hockey. I still watch only the Bruins, but now I'm a more casual fan and pay more attention to the rest of the NHL, with the help of Shannon.

  10. surprised you didn't mention Crosby's concussion issues. He had a ridiculous start to the season that could've been historic had he kept the pace

  11. RIP Atlanta Thrashers (1999-2011)
The current version of the Winnipeg Jets have lasted longer than when they were in Atlanta which really puts into perspective how short that stay was.

  12. I cheered SO hard for the Bruins in the 2011 Cup final.
    I don't even like Boston.
But as an incredibly small minded, spiteful loser, I couldn't even support my own country's entry in a hockey tournament.

  13. After the underwhelming showing the Islanders made under Capuano as an interim coach, nobody imagined that he would still be there six years later. Nothing personal against Jack, but he wasn't the most imaginative and inspiring of hockey coaches, but if you were from New England in the Garth Snow days you had job security. Snow, Tavares and Capuano are always tied together in my memory, and for all the anguish when Tavares went to Toronto, the Snow/Capuano/Tavares era really wasn't that good. It was a time of perpetual frustration & annoyance. Tavares leaving when Snow got axed and shortly after Capuano was fired really was, in the long run, addition by subtraction.
