L’armée a déclaré que Krug avait subi une opération hier et que tout s’était bien passé. Les Blues ne s’attendent pas à ce que Sundqvist (genou) participe au camp, mais il devrait être prêt pour le début de la saison.

I hope Krug can make a full recovery for the quality of his life going forward.

It’s crazy, but Sunny might be on the outside looking in for opening night roster. With some of the depth additions, we might have alternative options for the 4th line. I know fans won’t like that though.

We have enough depth at forward that we shouldn’t be trying to get Sunny into the opening night lineup if he isn’t ready to participate in camp 2 weeks ahead of the season opener. The dude now has a long injury history and this was another serious one. he shouldn’t be going until he is no doubt, 100% recovered.

I’m definitely in the boat of resting Sunny for the first couple weeks so we can rotate our young guns through the bottom 6, just to make deciding who stays and who goes a bit more definitive. We know Sunny’s game and given his injury history I think it’s better to make sure he’s fully healed for when other injuries start popping up mid way through the season.

While I’m happy we have Krug’s cap space to play with this year now, I hope he has a speedy recovery and we haven’t seen the last of him.

You can do what you want to “rest” him a bit during the season, but if he is healthy for the playoffs then he is in my top 12 for sure.
