Bryz. Gave up developing Bob, gave him a massive contract (that i think they’re still paying the buyout on) and he was just not good for us.

  2. there are definitely goalies with worse stats than Bryzgalov, but the overall negative impact of him should get him the honor here.

  3. I’m prepared for the incoming downvotes, Michael Leighton

I’d go Bryz. My dad and I went to the Winnipeg 9-8 game in his first season. It was an early showing of why he wasn’t the right choice.

Also love the G picture in the 2012 WC jerseys. Honestly my favorite Flyers jersey

Bryz 1000% and I say that as an older fan that had to watch Mark Laforest back up Ron Hextall.

Performance wise probably Soderstrom. We tend to be cursed with our goalies. Hart, Bryz, Soderstrom, Ouellet, Lindbergh, Wregget. I’m sure I’m missing a few

Depends how we are defining worst. To me that would be some guy that probably played a game or few. I’d agree with most that disastrous was Bryz.

For Worst a guy like Beauregard or someone like that

Soderstrom. Bryz was a pain but more for franchise than performance. If cost half of what he did we wouldn’t be as mad. Same with Hayes etc.

  9. Yeti_Urine

Bryz for sure. His sucking had a holistic effect on the franchise.

Felix sandstrom stats are really brutal

  11. I will accept no other answer than Michael Leighton

If you set a 10 game minimum, Stephane Beauregard is probably the worst. 16 GP, 3-9-0, .845 SV%, 4.41 GAA.

No one goalie had a bigger impact than Bryzgalov. Trading Richards & Carter freed up space for him. Traded a young budding star in Bob so he wouldn’t have competition. Had a really good team led by an MVP level player in Giroux.

Him being awful completely wasted multiple years of cup contention & to me ultimately started the run of utter mediocrity they still haven’t gotten out of.

The tandem of soderstrom and Roussel was pretty brutal. Although Dom’s helmet was one of my favorites.

Quote from the Broad Street Buzz article:

“We laugh at the NY Mets for having to pay Bobby Bonilla every year. We are still paying Bryz. Yup. Once a year, until 2026-27, we have to pay him $1,642,857 per the buyout from 2013. He is still costing this team money. If that isn’t a disaster, I don’t know what is.”

    Bryz 💯

It’s got to be bryz, not for the stats necessarily but for everything surrounding him. The drama, losing Bob, the buyout, etc. I suppose none of that is really HIS fault though

  17. CaffeineAndGrain

Performance and ripple effect? Bryz, no? *Person* and ripple effect? Hart.

  18. Exzrian_Artistrana

Carter Hart. Not only the worst goalie, but just the worst

  19. SouthRisk

If you are using the word “worst” in general terms then it is Carter Hart. If you are referring to only on ice ability it is probably Cal Heeter.
