  1. I never write off hall of famers..and the Pens sure have many of those..yes this is a super fair deal because just his name and legacy alone is worth more..and no he cannot rank higher than Mario ever lol..but still what a follow up he has become

  2. Sid the Kid Crosby is still the best and most humble legend. He really puts a lot of these guys to shame and it's crazy that he is still locked in at 8.7M and at only 2 years, instead of like 4 or 6 years (some crazy term) because there is no way the NHL would object even though he is older than 35.

  3. Crosby is simply Goated, him and Mario have the greatest history with the franchise and he absolutely deserves to have his number hanging on the rafters the moment he says “I’m retiring” like they better have his number ready to be raised the moment he says the words.

  4. What can Crosby do to further cement his legacy in Pittsburgh?
    1) Join rare air with Lemiex and Yzerman playing a long career with for only one franchise
    2) Bring a fourth cup to Pittsburgh

  5. Crosby once again showing the league what it takes to actually win Stanley cups. Underpaid for 19 years now. Now lets make the damn playoffs.

  6. Mario had a higher generational talent peak but syd has been a longevity warrior. I remember teams beating, cheap shotting him relentlessly in the playoffs. From my Habs fan perspective, he earned my respect 10 fold!

  7. I think Crosby just did what he could to climb. That was selfless. (lets be honest though 8.7 mil ain't peanuts) He has been very loyal though. He likely could have had his pick of cup chasing teams for nearly the same (or a bit more)

  8. When you think of Pittsburgh, Crosby and Mario are the first things that come to mind as a hockey fan. I'm glad he can finish his career exactly how it started. Next move in his last year he can move back in with Mario and his family. LOL The real question is can his Jock survive another 3 years?

  9. I have met Sid and he is exactly what you think he would be. Humble, polite and pleasant. Fantastic roll model for any young kids. As for hockey, top 5 all time, JMO. 99 called him the most beaten super star in hockey history. If not for that, his numbers are far better.

  10. i have had respect for Crosby since he became known, of course his tremendous read on the ice but as much his fairness and control speaks volumes. As time went on and he was continually compared to Ovechkin , then Sid showcased these values. When Ovechkin went around plowing into people as he generally was heavier than the others Ovi showed himself as a ruffian and bully on skates , but Crosby was a class act the whole way through. When we always played the Russians then Crosby led the team in every way and it was like Ovi was not even playing. I hope too that the Penguins make the playoffs as Crosby always ups his game , but I think its Edmontons year . Greetings from a Canadian hockey nut living in Norway ….. Sid was in Oslo this summer 🎉

  11. Crosby retiring puts him with Beliveau, Lemieux, and Apps. Finishing his career with the same team is a wonderful thing and it makes him a future hall of famer.
