  1. Great Video, as usual, Mike. I think that it all depends on The Demko Factor (whether or not he'll be healthy throughout The Regular Season).

  2. meyers showed really well after the coaching change. foote and gonchar have fine tuned his game and i thought he came the closest to earning his pay check last season. blais and sprong have looked pretty good at training camp and there should be some healthy competition for a spot. if demko can;t get by this injury his cap hit will create enough cap space to pick up a top 4 d man later in the year.

  3. I am a bit biased on the Canucks. I think they have a great chance at the cup. Still have a few issues with defense and goal tending but see them deeper in depth than most teams. Lots of good pieces and extra players in the minors who can jump in and fill holes without hurting the team. We should have four lines that can score and can check the other team into the ground. Not saying we can do it but are just as good as any team in the West. This team is built for the playoffs. but should still kick butt in the regular season. We might miss Zadorov but we will be better off without Lindholm or Michaev. A stronger full lineup.. I see us like a machine and roll over teams this year. And be better prepared when other teams that can't hack the checking getting dirty. I hate the fact that refs let a lot of dirty play go when we played a clean hard hitting game. We returned the favor after the fact, but the refs allowed a lot of cross checks go and called the retaliation.. That dirty play injured a lot of our guys. That was when we did not play as well just before the All Star Game.By mid season our team was the walking wounded till the end. Far less question marks this year than maybe ever. This looks like our deepest team. I am stoked.

  4. Wild card team

    Edmonton
    LA
    Vegas
    Seattle
    Vancouver
    Anaheim
    Calgary
    San Jose

Vancouver feasted on Edmonton’s slow start last season, Vegas limping all year, 4 of the bottom 10 teams were in the Pacific, the one team they couldn’t really beat was LA.

Most overrated team last year, great 1st half sure but with Demko questionable, Silovs unproven over a full season of opposition’s scouting, 4 top 6 forwards ( 4 if DeBrusk can show consistency ) 2 top 4 D, their biggest strength is the bottom 6, usually a great thing come playoffs but you have to get there

Anaheim and San Jose are not playoff bound but should be more competitive and harder 2 points to put in the bank every time, Seattle should be on par with Vancouver. Vegas lost some pieces but their back end is ridiculous, Edmonton got quicker and better defensively just by losing Desharnais, LA is hugely underrated and Byfield will have a coming out party this season.

If Vancouver misses playoffs or makes it in as wildcard it would not surprise me either way.

Nashville was a better team 55minutes of every game in first round.

“Canucks took Edmobton to 7 games” 😂

Vancouver “played” 5 games against Edmonton in a 7 game series

Canucks played one full playoff game start to finish all playoffs – Game 5 game against Oilers that’s it.

This team is a pretender not a contender

Their D outside of Hughes Hronek is the biggest and tallest collection of pylons in the NHL.

    Canucks don’t have him.

In my opinion Hughes still doesn’t have the right D partner.

Until he has someone taking the hits when the opposition dumps it over his head and getting the puck to him on transition… my game plan is exactly what Nashville and Edmonton did

Dump it in over his head and run him over…

Hronek is good offensively but Hughes needs a Tanev or Eckholm type, shut down, heavy minutes, good first pass stay at home D.

I love Hughes, congrats on Norris, but your #1 D should be able to play D against the oppositions best players

Just like Erik Karlsson, no business winning a Norris if you can’t play D, basically forwards dressing up as D.
