This signing gives the Canucks a good chance to do well in the Pacific Division and most importantly give Demko a chance to heal or not re injure himself.
Great news! 1 year deal at league minimum…huge insurance in case Demko is out for any extended time. I have confidence in Silovs if Demko were only out a month or 2…but if Demko is out until Christmas, I'm not sure if the Canucks could or should, ride a back up and a 3rd stringer for half the season. I think Silovs gets the first game. He really came up big for the team last season and he deserves the big start if Demko isn’t going. I’m very comfortable seeing Lankinen! He has a chance now to show what he has. And yes,he’s just a one season guy,but if he can help our team while helping himself stand out and maybe move on to a bigger role on another team? That’s a win for everyone I think.
