Huge fan of Tsyplakov.
Lee still showing he’s not going anywhere. Very professional game from him.
Liked seeing how willing guys were to shoot at the net, even if they weren’t good chances. Keep that aggression.

Solid game. I especially liked biting my nails at the last 1:30 with that empty net miss

Empty netters are on the menu this season
– Tsyplakov needs to improve in the D zone, but his offensive instincts were phenomenal and he brought the physicality that we were promised.
– PK was clearly improved, much better at clearing the zone and more dangerous. One bad turnover by a guy who probably won’t be killing penalties once the games actually matter is the only thing that prevented them from going 2/2.
– They played well with the lead in the 3rd period, never felt like the Devils truly threatened even at 6v5. Lots of poise and good decision making. Certainly a welcome sight!
– No one played noticeably poorly. All veteran forwards had a standout moment except Brock, but I’m not worried about him. Veteran defenseman didn’t make any bad mistakes. I’ll take it.
All in all, a solid first showing. Hopefully a sign of good things to come!
