    Koivu is the most clutch.

Need a FO win? Koivu. Need offensive zone time? Koivu. Need a shootout goal? Koivu. Need a defensive stop? Koivu.

Mikko is the most clutch and it isn’t close.

Probably Kaprizov but I’m not going to argue too much against getting Koivu on the grid.

It’s gotta be Bruno or Nino. The Wild haven’t won anything as important since.

Petteri Nummelin is 8/10 on shootouts and is the all time leader in shootout percentage, just as an aside.

If kirill isnt the most clutch wild player , ill wear a Logan Stanley jersey on my wedding day

With early discussion split on the player with the most clutch moment vs the player most that’s been most consistently clutch, I may find a way to honor both. Hoping to see memories/videos of giant saves, goals, assists, etc.!

Andrew Brunette came through big while he was here.

Vanak? lol you guys are hilarious. You know there’s a difference between slowest of all time and a guy that just doesn’t want to backcheck right?

With the way this list is going you guys are gonna pick Rask for most Clutch….

Geez, I forgot Vanek played for the Wild. Yes, he was indeed the slowest. Well played by those who voted him in. 👍

So…errr… looking forward to « the one that got away »… would the North Stars count?

Parise. Down by a goal, 3:04 left on the clock, Zach Parise was the guy you wanted to see out there

TL;DR – Koivu has my vote with an honorable mention to KK97

To me, clutch means the player you would most want to have the puck on their stick late in the game to tie the game or to break a tie. I pulled up stats for a few players who could be considered clutch. These stats may not show the whole story, but they are what I have. All of these stats were pulled from records.nhl.com. If a stat didn’t show up for a player, I entered N/A. I’m sorry if this is confusing 🙂

    Regular season:

Marian Gaborik – 502 Games Played (GP); 43 Game Winning Goals (GWG); .08566 GWG/GP; 4-6-10 Overtime Points (OTP); Shootout – N/A

    Zach Parise – 558 GP; 39 GWG; .06989 GWG/GP; 1-6-7 OTP; Shootout – 49 shots – 15 Goals – 4 Game Deciding Goals (GDG) – 30.61 Shooting % (S%)

    Mikko Koivu – 1028 GP; 33 GWG; .03210 GWG/GP; 5-8-13 OTP; Shootout – 107 shots – 42 goals – 18 GDG – 39.25 S%

    Kirill Kaprizov – 278 GP; 22 GWG; .07914 GWG/GP; 8-5-13 OTP; Shootout – 24 shots – 7 Goals – 3 GDG – 29.17 S%

    Playoffs:

    Marian Gaborik – 29 GP; 12-10-22 Playoff Points (POP); .75862 POP/GP; GWG – N/A

    Zach Parise – 44 GP; 16-21-37 POP; .84091 POP/GP; GWG – N/A

    Mikko Koivu – 59 GP; 11-17-28 POP; .47458 POP/GP; 2 GWG

    Kirill Kaprizov – 19 GP; 10-2-12 POP; .63158 POP/GP; 2 GWG

With all of this data, we also have to remember that Gaborik and Koivu both played in an era where scoring was way down, although Koivu played with the Wild while the scoring started to increase. Koivu was also a defensive machine, and so that does have to be taken into account.

I think Kaprizov is the most clutch regular season player, but Koivu was the most clutch playoff player, and Koivu wasn’t too far behind Kaprizov for regular season clutch performer, so I am voting for Koivu.
