Murray Baron was pretty good at blocking shots if I recall correct.

  2. -GregTheGreat-

Chris Tanev was borderline suicidal the way he’d dive in front of pucks

  3. Chris Tanev. That man literally blocked a shot with his face and lost pretty much one side of his teeth.

  4. bagels_r_life

Tyler Myers SOLELY for his sacrifice against Nashville.

Seriously though, Tanev is the guy

Sami Salo. Feel like the dude always had some sort of lingering injury cause he was always blocking shots.

  6. NooneKnowsIAmBatman

Sami salo sacrificed a testicle for this spot on the grid

Tanev will win, but honourable mention to Edler who blocked a ton of shots himself. Also was probably responsible for the most shots blocked by the other team.

Chris Tanev got shelled during the worst era in club history.. Such a shame he couldn’t have played under the Allvin regime.

Murray Baron used to wear ancient shin pads that had flared out with age so that his legs would take up more space for shot blocking. Blocking shots was his entire MO, and I think he lead the league in blocks in 2000-2001

  10. Since 2005 season Elder has the 10th most blocks of any player in the NHL.

Murray Baron had about 1,300 blocked shots in his career.

    Total career:

    Elder 2,016
    Tanev 1,557
    Baron 1,307

Baron or Tanev is the answer, but shoutout to Alex Edler who’s #10 in all-time blocked shots in the NHL

  12. For forwards, it’s Ryan Johnson. Dude carved out a 700+ game NHL career by eating pucks.

Plus he’s in the front office now.

  13. Artistic_Bag_7172

Kevin Bieksa averaged about 2.4 blocked shots per game

Here’s a list of the top five shot blockers in Vancouver Canucks history, along with their average blocked shots per game:

    1. Kevin Bieksa – 2.4 blocked shots per game
    2. Sami Salo – 2.1 blocked shots per game
    3. Alex Edler – 2.0 blocked shots per game
    4. Chris Tanev – 2.0 blocked shots per game
    5. Mattias Ohlund – 1.8 blocked shots per game

  15. nalydpsycho

Alex Edler blocked more than 700 more shots than anyone else in team history.

  16. If there was a HOF for blocking shots, getting your shots blocked and breaking sticks, Edler would be first ballot 😂
