As they should. You pay whatever it takes to keep Igor, but the consensus seems to be it’ll fall in the 11-12 range

I’ve come to the conclusion that I can live with any dollar amount, and really we should all be more concerned about the term and trade protections situation.

Back up the Brinks truck if you need to, but I feel like Drury saying “we’re not doing this until you’re 37 with full NMC” is more than fair. Rangers need to stop locking themselves into terrible contracts with no way out.

  3. They sort of have to. Best goalie in the league for my money. ‘95 has produced some of the best athletes in their sport. Igor, MacK, Mahomes, Jokic to name a few

Just give him what he wants, 10.5, 11, 12 fuck even 13 mil fuck it, I wouldn’t be stoked about paying him 13 but you have to realize that the season after this, the Rangers are going to look very very different but with cap space

If we don’t pay Igor i will literally stop watching hockey. We have actual overpaid underachievers. And multiple playoff ghosts. This guy is the only one worth his fucking paycheck

My sources are telling me 11.2M x 7

    Makes sense nowadays.

Price was absolutely insane though in his prime, but had some availability issues.

Our most consistent playoff performer. In his short time he is already statistically one of the best playoff goalies in general.

You pay him and build around him. Same with every other superstar who’s the best at their position.

If they can’t build a winner around him that’s the Orgs fault, not Igor’s.

The length of the contract 8 years le your paying for some decline. It also affects what you can give laffy.
If he don’t take 10.mil. trade him at the deadline for a haul.

If we can work 11…12 max I’d be happy. He’s the best there is. Even with an increasing cap we can’t completely and totally handcuff ourselves. He knows this too and realizes that he wants to be surrounded by a consistently top tier team.

Didn’t some NHL insider say rangers already offered above the 10.5 but it wasn’t enough ? Maybe LeBrun?

Pay him whatever he wants. Lock him up long term. I don’t want to see him reach his prime on another team.

    $10,500,001. Not a penny more.

Be surprised what a playoff gm will give up. As for goalie the kid in Hartford looks like a keeper and quick to play out the year.
Drury will be gone if they don’t get atleast to the finals.trouba be gone
Trading panarin if he doesn’t play better in the playoffs not a bad idea.
Be a great reset for next year.

  15. I wish the nhl (or other sports league) would go to percentage of cap.

Give him 12% of cap for 7 years. Next season it’s $10.5 million. In 7 years it might be $14 million.
