Depending on what we mean by toughest, I’d go with stammer. Trying to skate off the broken leg, puck to the face and back with a cage against Boston, the shift against Dallas, stammer was a damn dawg.

Toughest could mean a lot of things
Stamkos is my pick based on all the adversity he’s faced from the broken leg, knee injury, blood clot, and core muscle injury

Ben Bishop played goalie with a torn groin. Thats fucking crazy.
Kuch routinely comes back from absurd damage by pretending to not speak english
Fedotenko played with half his face peeled off and stapled back on.
Stamkos tried to bionic man his way back into the lineup.
Its a tough call. It may be the toughest.

We’ve had so many absolute warriors in guys like Stammer/Kucherov/Sergachev coming back from various injuries, and Killorn getting a rod put in his leg and being ready to go in the finals if he needed to. Not to mention guys like Cernak or McDonagh who block every shot they can.
Very difficult choice, but I’ll say Killorn since he hasn’t been on here yet.

Mcdonaugh for all the shot blocking he does

Marty St. Louis gets a look here. He constantly took a beating in the pre 2005 lockout era. That time was known for clutching and grabbing. Look at pics of Marty’s face after the 04’ cup. That was one tough SOB. We’ve had a lot of them, but he gets my vote.

I’m going with McDonagh for the pure fact of how he blocks shots.

Why not Roy?

How has nobody mentioned Girardi? That dude is one of the toughest NHLers to ever do it. Stammer has definitely shown he’s a tough character, he could take the mantle too.

Physical toughness there’s a lot. But just absolute mental toughness too I gotta go with Stamkos. All the injuries, having to deal with his wife having a miscarriage during the bubble playoffs. I have to vote Stamkos here. So much mental fortitude.
Fuck I wish it ended better 🙁

St. Louis had to grind it out for years just to make the NHL, and he had plenty of ironman seasons to boot. He gets my vote.

Callahan, McD, and Girardi need love for the shot blocking they do.
