Gabe Perrault ranked 4A while Eduard Sale not ranked. Rangers took him 3 picks after Sale in 2023.
Lane Hutson ranked 4B, taken by the Habs 1 pick after Goyette in 2022. At least Goyette got honorable mention on this list.

The Athletic plays way too fast and loose with the term prospect. Like half the dudes on that list have already played 1-2 full seasons in the NHL. Young =/= prospect.
Now all that said, I don’t disagree with their assessment of Berniers and Catton.
3rd line center upside for Wright seems a little ungenerous. It’s an outside analyst being quoted, but still.

So not just one guys opinion piece at least, a bit of a survey of insiders it would seem. Wouldn’t take it as gospel, but it’s probably at least well informed opinion. And of course nobody has a crystal ball, on aggregate scouts are pretty good at identifying who will be successful, but there are always surprises here and there.
Obviously would love for a couple of our guys to project a little higher, but honestly this doesn’t seem so bad. Figure the top tier is literally one guy, and tier 2 is 7. I can imagine a team with Beniers, Wright, and Catton being pretty damn good even if none of those guys are a total gamebreaker individually.
