    Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck

Time for Spence and Clarke to prove they’re the future of the LA Blueline

Ugh this sucks but there is one small bright spot. The younger guys will get the time and experience they need to take the next step.

    1) good luck with the rehab Dewy, we’ll miss ya.

    2) is the top of the ‘25 draft class looking good?

  5. Old man Drew is gonna be back in a month and change, book it. (Pls)

  6. New plan: Stay in contention for the playoffs for half(?) the season.

Kids get time to cook and develop.

Drew comes back fresh to make a playoff push and we win the whole damn thing.

…I know, I know. Just let me have this one.

  7. The positives are that he’ll be back during the season to give the team a lift, due to him missing a few months he may have some more energy come playoff-time, and Clarke and Spence will get more ice time and experience and will get more power-play time to show off their skills.

I mean, maybe Rob Blake would like to lace ‘em up for a few months. Could probably still throw a decent hip check.

I blame the change in logo for this misfortune.

  10. The D pairings without him look fucking awful. This team is going to struggle mightily.

I Doughty wanted to start the season off like this.

  12. I know it sucks but I think we did get a “best” case scenario out of this. As far as reports go I haven’t seen anything other than only a fracture of the ankle. No other damage. Month-to-month sounds really long but that could just mean he could be back around the end of Dec

Far, far from a worst case scenario. A torn Achilles, at his age, could have been a career ender. No ligament or tendon damage after the ankle folded in half? Hallelujah!

This could actually work out fine in the long run. The kids will get quite a bit of experience during important minutes which will serve them well down the road. Doughty will be fresh for (hopefully) the playoffs. Ultimately, there’s a possibility that the team will be better off having gone through some adversity early. We shall see.
