Listening to them talk about the Stars is always painful.
Hakanpää wasn’t great for the Stars… he was 6th in ice time among Dman including Tanev. Dude is a glorified 7th Dman and not a big loss whatsoever
I thought Steve did research for these? Oetter has been injured twice in his whole career. How is that all the time?
Amazing how ignorant they are if it isn’t a Canadian team
Thankfully, Nils looks like he's taken strides to really make good after underperforming severely last season and in playoffs. Won't really know until the season proper though given who the Stars have seen so far in terms of who's been fielded by Colorado, Minnesota and St. Louis.
They could improve their right side, but I'm not really surprised that they didn't sign 34-year-old injury prone Tanev and Hakanpää, who they thought had a career ending knee injury.
I have faith that Nill and DeBoer will figure out the RD situation. Miro has shown he can do pretty much everything including playing on his off side. I’m more concerned about our power play. That’s what killed us in the post season.
One of the very few almost no weakness teams in the whole NHL, top9 crazy, 4th line good, all defensive pair are good or decent on paper, Oettinger is top10 arguably top5 in the NHL, DeSmith is also probably top5/10 among 2nd goalies.
Bottom D pair if there is injuries is maybe a little thin, but isn’t it the case for everyone ? Top5 contenders.

People need to stop saying that they couldn’t pay Tanev or that they let him go. They didn’t have a choice because if he did sign with Dallas he would’ve been taxed by both the Canadian and American government since he’s played most of his career within Canada. So that’s why he got traded to the leafs, there’s no sense in signing a deal when most of your money will go to a government for a country you don’t reside in.
Cup is ours this year.
TEXASSS HOCKEY
DallASS is a worse version of the 21-22 soilers
Jani Hakanpaa is not 1/2 as good as you seem to think he is even before his injury.
We shouldve held on to Tanev for another year.
tanev was a rental though and yeah its a step back on the right side- however it was entirely unavoidable/. thats kinda something you need to think about when teams get to play off contention all the time- some of the pieces are gonna need to step back to push forward. you look at all the things in the ahl you know theres gonna be solid tenders and centers and left wings so on and so on.
