  1. Caps will be in a battle for 3rd/WC just like last year. They need a better start to the season than they had last year but it's encouraging to see that last year they had a lot of wins come from close low scoring games. They just need offensive production. Chychrun, PLD, Mangiapane could all help with that. Playoffs aren't guaranteed but they'll be in the battle.

  2. The sooner 8 passes 99, the better for the team. It will be a huge distraction later and later into the season.

    Hopefully he gets it at home.

  3. I think the caps are a lock for the wildcard this year. One thing people don't talk about enough is that there were like the 4th most injured team last season and played with basically an AHL defense core at the end of the season. Their defense got way better this season something they were already good at and even if Mangiapane and PLD don't play to their full potential they didn't lose any key roster spots to get them so even if PLD is just his average 60 point Winnipeg self that's still a very useful 60 points on a team that struggled to score last year.
