  1. And with that we are done with the nhl’s history and can go into the next season to catalog it all as it goes on. What a fun series to follow over these last few months.

  2. My VGKs Cheating Scandal Back fired vs Dallas in 7 and of course What a Hell of a Season for my Edmonton Oilers Almost Stanley Cup Champs and my Back to back But congrats Florida Panthers On your first Stanley Cup

  3. There was 1 team I was afraid of and that happened to be the same team that eliminated my Rangers in the Conference Finals. I was so sure this was our year. Everything seemed to be clicking but alas, it was not meant to be again.

What a fun series of videos. Some years were great to look back on, especially getting to the years when I was younger getting into the sport. I really love the effort you put into this series. I can't wait to see what you have next.

  4. Let’s hope Alex Ovechkin gets to 894 this year. And with that that’s a wrap until the end of the 2024-2025 NHL season we will be back right here.

  5. Now that we are at the end of this series I just wanted to say that I've been looking forward to each one each day, and it was a lot of fun to follow the league from its inception to modern day year by year!

  6. Great series, THG, watched all the episodes! Like how you did a lot on the NHA and the development of pro hockey to put the NHL into its larger context. And now that you are done… the regular season starts!

  7. While I do understand that the Conn Smythe is awarded to the MVP of the playoffs, seeing it go to a player on the losing team just seems wrong to me.

  8. I watched every episode, though may favorites were from the start of the NHL or NLHL (No Livingstone Hockey League), to the first Expansion. It was a great series.

  9. The Wings with one of the biggest late season chokes I've seen. Funny enough, the Detroit Tigers just made the playoffs because of a similar choke by the Twins so we've been on both sides of a late season collapse this year.

  10. How did Nylander not score 100 points this year? He was on pace for like 120 for most of the season. Then with like 10 games to go he only needed like 4 points to get there. What happened?

  11. I agree with McDavid winning the Conn Smythe. He deserved it. And i didn't care at all that he didn't come to claim it. That was the Panthers moment not his moment. It was probably one of the worst moments of his life. Anyone offended by this needs to change their priorities in life.

  12. 13:00 "What I thought was amazing about this was …10 million of that cap hit goes to Pittsburgh."

There is a bit of an asterisk on getting out of most of Karlsson's deal in that the Sharks took back some bad contracts. In the first year they were actually paying more than that 10M in savings between Hoffman's 4.5M, Granny's 5M, and Rutta's 2.75M (12.25M). The second season it's just Granny and Rutta (7.75M), and then those contracts are off the books.

Granny had a fantastic year despite being treated as a cap dump and Rutta was serviceable, but Hoffman was just horrendous. Of course the biggest key for the Sharks is the 10M being off the books after this year…they don't care about cap space this year, nor did they last year, but in the final year or two of EK65's deal they might actually want to start spending and now they'll have that extra space.

  13. Don't forget that Mike Babcock was hired as the Blue Jackets coach on July 1st, and then fired before training camp even started because of looking through players' phones. That probably contributed to their disastrous season

  14. I learned a lot of new things about the NHL watching this series like how Latendresse was the first ever player to wear the number 84. Keep up the awesome work!

  15. The Stars clinch the top spot in the West for the first time in eight years, but again, had trouble winning at home in the postseason especially in Game 1s which finally caught up to them in the WCF as they would lose again in the third round for the second consecutive season. Hopefully, this coming season they'll finally get over the hump.
