will potentially be back for february/2nd half of the season. if this is true then this is legit good news as pretty much everyone expected it to be season ending injury

  3. alldasmoke__

That would be amazing lol. That means he can come back(at worst) after the deadline and shake some rust off until the end of the season and we can get him ready next year.

  4. AcanthocephalaGreen5

    Don’t do that… don’t give me hope

  5. HanshinFan

If true, about the good end of what the possible outcomes were, but still obviously a major bummer overall. Hope Patty can bounce back and come in and dominate after this. I’m rooting for him so fuckin hard.

  6. I won’t get my hopes up yet… I don’t want to be crushed again

“Nothing confirmed yet by team” is what’s important here

6 months is April. There’s no way they would risk it for 2-3 meaningless games

  9. Unfortunately either way we’re going to miss a fair chunk of his remaining contract.

It was a good opportunity to see if he could grow back into what he entered the league as, then see if we could get him on an affordable deal cause that’d probably make him want to stay.

Now it’s all just a question mark….. When and if he comes back this year we won’t see him at a true 100% since he’ll be rusty. Then when he’s fully good to go in 25-26 he’ll be a UFA.

Would probably be back sometime in March at the latest if this is true, at least he’d be able to get some games in.

The ol’ Kucherov tactic. Now let’s sign a big fish free agent to get us back in the playoff mix. Any left in the barrel??

  12. It’s basically The Price is Right of injury timelines today.

  13. CMDR_Traf85

I don’t get the Habs organization says no news for now, yet I’ve seen 3 reporters give timelines now. What gives?

  14. That’s what I speculated in reply to (don’t remember who) when the LTIR question arose.

4-6 months puts him on track for a March-April return at the latest.

Basically: back for a playoffs push if we’re still in that picture.

  15. That’s actually awesome news everything considering, was worried about much worse, get well soon Patrick

I mean, 6 months is *still* out for the season though, minus a week or two. If he’s put that long, they should do what they did with Dach. No point in playing him in meaningless games late in the season. If he’s 100% then sure, give him some games, I’m sure that would be huge for him mental health. What a shit situation.

  17. bloodrider1914

Well, better that than completely season or even career ending

  18. DCARRI3R3

I mean we can be Vegas guys and get our star back for playoffs! Right? Right?

  19. Subject-Restaurant50

I think without an announcement from the team we can’t jump to conclusions. I have a gut feeling that he will use the same surgeon as Dach — the surgeon has a rule that players don’t play again the same season.
