  1. Simon Nemec played 60 games for the Devils last year – rather more than a handful. They'd have PREFERRED he just play a handful or so, same as Luke Hughes, but given the injuries, etc

  2. Hearing words "Brodeur shuts the door." again for the preseason game was a Nostalgia kick to the max. its so crazy to see Martin's son playing for the same team he won cups with.

  3. Lindy was never the problem. They couldn't get a save, how does that make Lindy a bad coach for them? When they got ANY goaltending he led them to 110 point season

  4. I don't think the Devils are president's trophy this year, they're 3rd in the Metro. They've gotten to where they're better than the Islanders and just a little bit worse than the Hurricanes or Rangers.

  5. sheldon keefe had zach hyman, in the playoffs, the way you describe timo meier wrecking shop cuz thats what keefe likes, i dont know if his words translate to the playstyle he makes em play

  6. I just love yall talking about what a sick team this is and not having time to talk about Jesper Bratt. Just got to Prague and so hyped for this Friday!

  7. Ugh. Injuries. 104 points… you will not get a full year out of Jack H saying 65 games. Get him ready for the playoffs. Hope he hit the bench. Luke? Same 65 games. Meire – 72 games, Hamilton – 70 games, Nemec, 74 games.

  8. I'm a Devils fan, and I'm taking the under and putting them in 3rd or 4th. They just get hurt too much. Two seasons ago was everything lining up perfectly. Last season was everything going wrong. Realistically, they'll wind up in the middle.

  9. The 112 point is season is the clear outlier, but people seem to consider that the standard. I wish they're as good as people seem to think, as they're my team in the east, but I'm not as confident. My hope is playoffs, and I'd be thrilled if it isn't as a wild card team.

  10. Markstrom is not the saviour. Since he arrived in the NHL he’s alternated between great years where he is Vezina caliber and crap seasons where he lets in 1 or 2 soft goals a game and leaks like a screen door being used as a raft.

Last year was a good year for him. This year he will cost them a playoff spot.

  11. The team was decimated with injuries and didn’t have a single competent goalie, but it was actually all Lindy’s fault somehow. Never mind that all of their possession numbers got drastically worse as soon as Travis Green took over. Lindy is an excellent coach and they had horrible injury luck. I don’t get why you have to take shots at him.
