[Also, Torts said that he’d rather not carry eight d-men on the NHL roster. So even though Andrae appears to have « won » that competition, it probably doesn’t mean he’ll make the opening night roster.

Looks like Andrae will be first call up if there is an injury on D.
Probably for the best. I would’ve been fine with Ginning sitting in the press box as the 8th defenseman if he’d proven something, but Andrae should be getting minutes. Hopefully he is the first injury call-up.
Ginning has been disappointing tbh. I thought he’d push for a spot on the opening day, but he looked horrible the other night vs the Islanders
Ginning had a really disappointing camp. Not expecting him to be top 4 or anything, but for a guy on the verge of no longer being a prospect, I would’ve expected more.
Young dmen not stepping up? It’s like he hasn’t watched any phantoms film from last year where Andre was really the only one that was worth it in their d core which looked terrible throughout the season
Ginning will never actually be a better defenman than Andrea. Andrea is much more skilled. Ginning just has the be a 6-7th D man that doesn’t make mistakes and plays physical. Andrea has potential to be much more than that

Danny has a lot of work to do over the next 2 years with this defense and center depth indeed
Was at the game the other night and it was like watching the 3 stooges out there on D. It wasn’t pretty.
Not surprised. Bonk is the only D prospect we have that is actually projected to be an impact top 4 guy while the rest are pretty much 3rd pair ceiling and/or AHLers.
It’s crazy how many people were acting like Ginning/Attard were future key players for the Flyers or that there was a logjam preventing them from succeeding in NHL.
Andrae is at least still young enough where there is potential but I dont see him as any more than a depth guy
Everybody talks about the center problem but our defense not having a top pair guy and Bonk being best D prospect is a huge problem
Torts giving a budding superstar like Michkov a long leash early in his career, but giving absolutely no slack when it comes to defensive performance all around. He’s the coach we’ve always needed, I’m more convinced than ever!
