1. The game that the Sabres PROSPECTS lost, was against a team that had HALF of an experienced NHL roster dressed, including a quality starting goaltender and they held their own pretty well.

I’m impressed with and excited for these kids to mature into roster spots in the NHL.

I will say that I’m pretty disappointed that Ratzlaff was sent back to the WHL. I thought he was stellar! I’ll be amazed and highly disappointed if he’s not in Rochester next season!

  2. My only concern going into the Devils doubleheader is that the team are undercooked. The NHL squad have only played two AHL lineups and a DEL team. The only questions for the "opening day" roster when they return home are Gilbert or Clague as 7th D and whether there is a 14th forward or a 3rd goalie. I am still concerned Reimer gets claimed if he is waived. As far as playoffs are concerned there are 6 Atlantic teams vying for 5 playoff spots. Realistically it is Tampa, Boston, Detriot and Buffalo for 3 spots. Montreal may have been an outside possibility before those injuries, particularly Laine.

On the prospect front, I think Kulich, Rosen and Neuchev are above Ostlund & Helenius in the call up race as the latter two players are in need of at least a few months acclimatisation in Rochester. With those PP units you mention, if you put Thompson & Cozens on the 1st unit, who takes the face offs on the 2nd unit?

As for points mid 90s, 5th place in the division and a wildcard spot.

  3. This season and Adams’ future will depend on his defense IMO. A lot of money and term spent on Dahlin, Power, and Sammy. Byram cost us Mitts and Jokiharju and Clifton aren’t cheap. The chemistry just seems weird to me. Are they good enough defensively? Can Ruff get the most out of these guys?

  4. 93, which is only, in my mind, getting 3 more games to OT and winning 3 more. Certainly doable. The loser point is something this team failed to achieve way too many times last year.

  5. …jason zucker should absolutely be trying to score goals what are you talking about? I really dislike the idea that everyone in your bottom 6 needs to be a defensive stalwart, especially on a team that couldnt put the puck in the net last year. Really weird take IMO. I also didnt take Zuckers comments in the vein of "Defense is for chumps, im just gonna shoot, YOLO" I think it's completely reasonable for him to want to address his deficiencies from last season.

  6. People who call it Twitter and not X, will vote for Kamala. That means they hate Americans and our country. I like you Joe. Don’t let your wife vote for you!

  7. I hope Levi makes the club as a backup, but but… in that game vs. Red Bull he made some pretty poor decisions with the puck. Easily could have turned it over for a goal against about 2-3 times. He need to work on his “puck skills” when he has control and looking to make a good pass to a teammate

  8. 98 points, the offense will rebound to average in between where they were last year and where they were in 22-23 and their much better defensively and that should help whoever the goalie tandem ends up being

  9. I know I liked what I saw but being preseason and none of the games were really against NHL talent.. I'm a bit tempered. Still, I'd love to see this season be like NJ only a few years ago where they shocked everyone. Of course they also were NOT in the meat grinder called the Atlantic Division either.

  10. 100 points . Sabres will carry 3 goalies 13 forwards and 7 D because if Adams tries to send Reimer to Rochester Anahiem will most likely claim him since Gibson is out until mid Nov and theres also the Bruins and Swayman saga ( take your time boys, take your time😂😂) even though they just claimed a goalie from Vancouver.

  11. imo this Sabres roster is a step above what Ruff had in NJ a couple years ago and he got that club to 112pts. I think we can do as good if not better.
