« J’ai vu quelques (médecins)… J’ai eu de bonnes opinions. En fin de compte, c’était ma décision de faire tout ce que nous voulions faire. L’équipe et tout le monde m’ont apporté toute leur aide. À la fin de la journée, j’ai décidé de ne pas subir d’opération, de simplement faire de la rééducation et de le laisser guérir… c’était mon genou après tout. – Lainé

  2. So surgery was an option for this type of injury?

  3. --JULLZ--

Woops. I thought the team told him no surgery

  4. If surgery is not needed and it can heal in about 3-4 months, Im all for it.

Hopefully it was the right call and that his knee will be 100% ok after rehabilition. Probably pros and cons with both alternatives.

  6. TripleWDot

Hmmm man I hope for his and the teams sake that this is the right decision. Either way, such shitty situation for him. Hopefully the rehab goes smoothly and he can be back to normal.

  7. PaulWesterberg84

Yeah I hope this was the right decision, with his luck and our team misfortunes…I hope it’s not an aggravating factor. All the best to Patrik in his recovery.

I trust the team doctors, besides, You can’t force a player to do what he doesn’t want…
Just ask Jack Eichel and Buffalo’s medical staff

I may be misremembering but didn’t McDavid do this as well? I believe the injury was different but chose rehab over surgery? Pretty sure there was a documentary on this. Either way I’m sure they made the best possible decision.

Reminds me of McDavid not doing surgery a few years ago. Doing rehab as a full time job can have impressive results.

« It *was* my knee after all ».

Using the past tense here proves the Iqaluit theory beyond any reasonable doubt.

  12. I went to a sans rendez vous clinique in Montreal, I had to take a rendez vous for that… and I waited 9 hours, so I told to myself my knee seems ok 👌

It’s good that Laine chose to get another opinion to see if he can rehab the knee, reminds me of McDavid choosing to rehab his knee in the summer rather than getting surgery, clearly made the right decision.
