what he's doing to Kane reflects incredibly poorly on Yzerman, who just negotiated a deal w 88 that includes both personal and team performance bonuses. now bc of the coach being an awful person it looks like Yzerman negotiated in bad faith w a legend. Stevie should have fired him after last season.

Has Derek Lalonde anywhere given an explanation – a hockey explanation – for why the Kane Larkin DeBrincat line isn't being used as the top line? Given how much more effective that line was last season than the Raymond version, or indeed any other combination involving those players, it seems an explanation for not using it or even giving it a chance in preseason would be in order. Or is it not asked about or talked about because the reasons for it aren't hockey reasons? If he's playing favorites that's fine but he should be man enough to admit it.
