Luchanko is making the team. Now the question is for how long

Nothing else Andrae could have done to make the team. Cutting someone the day after they have a 3 point game is kinda wild but that’s what happens when you have literally no open spots for new players

  4. Not that it’s a given, but usually any Flyer player who makes the NHL Opening Night roster gets to choose their own jersey number if they’re still on the club assigned preseason/camp jersey number. Not expecting Jett to move off of #17, but you never know.

Although I don’t think we expected him in camp with #17 in the first place, and assumed he’d be 56 or 73 or some shit lol

Sucks for Andrae thought he’d make it up this year. He still might assuming injuries. Shocked Luchanko made it unless it’s just for 8-9 games.

Damn, Jett’s gonna make the team.

I’m not opposed to the nine games. I’m honestly just worried that keeping him up here will make it more likely that he doesn’t reach his ceiling.

I want to give Luchanko the best chance of developing into a contender-level 2C (or even 1C? 😳)— not a really good 3C two-way guy. And to do that, I think he needs to improve his shot, offensive skill, and creativity. The OHL is better suited for that purpose imo, at least for him.

And it’s not like we are worried about time! He’s 18!

Not that Barkey was expected to make the team… but was he expected to have a better camp than he did?

I liked what I saw out of Richard this preseason. He definitely is not a perfect player, but that speed can be a lot of fun on a fourth line as an energy guy. Hope he clears. Defo too old to be in the future but as an injury fill in he could be fun.

I wonder how Kolosov is gonna handle the AHL. I’m glad the flyers didn’t cave in and force him in the team. Both Ersson and Fedotov played well enough to deserve their spots. They earned it.

Definitely cool with Barkey and Bonk heading back to terrorize the juniors again. Next season I imagine they both get a real good shot out of camp to make the team, as well as Jet. Who, speaking of, I think gets his 9 and sent back to Guelph to bot burn the year. Maybe the flyers are trying to over correct for Cutter but I will be flabbergasted if he stays all season.

I think we’ll see Andrae and tuomaala eventually. Ginning seems like a JAG. Along with Grans. I like where the flyers are. A lot of youth on this team
