So a full lineup and there playing Myers and Timmins before Liljegren.

Might be nearing the end of Lily as a Leaf because I don’t really see a role for him on the team at 3 million when you consider he’s not going to get powerplay time and probably very little time on the penalty kill.

If they can trade Liljegren for someone useful that’s great, but if it’s not a RD coming back the other way I’m afraid our d corps is going to be cooked before the playoffs even start. Timmins is made of glass, Hakanpaa is destined for LTIR, and OEL has no business playing top 4 on a contending team

Connor Timmins is injury prone for long time periods. Don’t be fucking stupid

Maybe we just have a rotation on IR or do they have to be on LTIR for cap relief?

  5. It doesn’t make any sense at all to waive Lilly. Like none. They JUST signed him. Why didn’t they trade his rights for a draft pick and have 3 million in cap space to play with?

Regardless of how good Myers has been this preseason or how bad Liljegren has been, it would be GROSS mismanagement for Liljegren to end up on waivers or traded for mid round picks tomorrow. Like hilariously bad. They could have non-tendered him in June. They could have flipped his rights at the draft for a 5th round pick and used that 3 million cap space to secure Matt Roy or to overpay some other free agent.

I’m not even going to defend whether Liljegren is one of their 6 best dmen or if he deserves to have made the team, it’s just dumb. What could they have done with 3 more million this offseason? It’s a good thing Brandon Pridham is getting paid lots of money because Treliving might be the WORST cap management executive. Like hilarious…

  6. I hope they don’t give up on lilly. They say you need 300 nhl games to understand what you have in a defenceman.

  7. Who comes out of this lineup for Robertson? Lorentz, Patches?

I like having Liljegren, it’s nice to have defenders who can make breakout passes. He will likely prove he deserves a bigger role on another team imo

Anyways I don’t like this management of the player (haven’t for a few seasons now) and when we force a player out like this, it kinda feels like we’re getting away from what makes teams win: skill.

No disrespect, but I feel like Treliving really hasn’t been great when it comes to adding offensive skill, so let’s keep the players who have with some, no? Lily cannot be worse than OEL on the third pair, Lily has been elite in third pair minutes. Why overpay for OEL to play that role
