I played hockey here as a kid. The walk to the ice from the locker rooms was sooooo long. You had to go down a flight of stairs and up another to get to the middle of the oval.

I’d be interested to know if the wider/longer track helps with sprint training, being able to skate in a straight line longer.

That’s pretty cool. Using both the hockey rink and speed skating oval could give them a neat little training advantage.

That place was used for the roller hockey national championship tournament back in 2012.

Looks like they have a giant speed skating track.
You wonder what happens to old Olympic venues.

There’s a lot of video on the groundbreaking of the new practice facility in Sandy but I found this showing a little bit about the current space.
The Olympic oval in Calgary has this same layout configuration as well
My son played a 10U game tournament championship game at the UOO last December. Not great for spectators, but a very cool experience for the kids.
