The Athletic is paywalled, but it appears this article is free.

  2. He deserves a spot because he’s been our best player this pre season.

I’m honestly so tired of seeing unnecessary roster blockades when we have a few young guys who should be making the team.

He deserves a spot because he looks like a dude who has been an elite player for 5 years.

He looks like he was one of the best players in the season.

Doesn’t mean he will be that but that performance from him was great.

The worst that could happen is that we send him down to AHL.

  6. Kasper is definitely ready for the bigs. He’s been great so far in this preseason.

He deserves it because he’s clearly earned it. I didn’t get to watch a lot of the preseason but the times I did he looked noticeable, even among the NHL guys. He was great along the boards, great at getting the puck to the house, had good vision and speed and was tenacious on the puck, all without being a defensive liability like Berggren.

If he gets sent back to the AHL he should 110% be the first call up.

I might be in the minority here but I think he would be better off starting in the AHL as the true 1C and gets the call up when/if any of the top 9 get injured. I don’t want him on the 4th line, even though he could absolutely handle it.

His floor right now is a 2C and if he gets the finishing touch he’s a bonafide 1C. No reason to bury him. If Copp, Compher, or Larkin get injured I want him to be called up to center over Ras and JFV because he clearly can handle it.

Sign Watson, pray Bergs has a good opening to the season so we can trade him and bring Kasper then Mazur up to fill any vacant roles throughout the season. Also I don’t know anything I’m just an armchair GM
