Interesting how I was just watching the video of him with the smelling salts on the bench, and then open Reddit to see a highlight of him

That’s EXACTLY what we need out of this guy. Picture perfect.

Beautiful play, reminded me of Gary Roberts from back in the day. Pounded him against the boards, got the turnover and fed the open man.

Im not saying the leafs forward group is better this year than last year, but this is the type of goal this team has struggled with creating with any consistency. Everyone wants to talk about playoff hockey, and yes this is just preseason, but time and space is a commodity in the playoffs and that’s how you create it in the offensive zone.

Probably the greatest forecheck I’ve ever witnessed Reavo perform

He had 10 assists with Vegas one year.

Let’s see him do it again.

As someone who has been on the side of « why the fuck did we give this guy 1.5×3 » I can wholeheartedly say that I’m willing to eat my words if we can see this type of play out of him a couple times a month. Last season was a disaster for him, especially the skating himself into the boards sending him to LTIR. It is pre season and he was getting bullied by 18 year olds when they played Montreal, but this is a glimpse of what our fourth line could look like with 3 killers (Reavo,Lorentz, holmberg/Dewar) that attack the puck in the ozone like a bunch of rabid dogs. It’s a thing of beauty.

He’s been a useful player during his career, just a little long in the tooth

Props to Lorentz, too. He only had that space to accept the pass because he knocked his man down along the boards.

  10. That was the sexiest 4th line goal I’ve seen in years from this team

Thank god we have Knies. I’m done expecting this kind of forecheck from the core guys, but I hope Knies is taking notes

  12. a couple of big boy plays led to that snipe. Love it.

Anyone have a clip of the move Reaves made in his own end in the third? I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw it but I can’t find any clips of it. 🙁

This all was because of the systems we have in place.

Having a fourth line that capable, understanding, and willing to play the systems in place are going to make a massive difference. I’m not expecting them to put up massive numbers, but control the zone more and wear the other team down.

Keefes systems were WAY to complicated

I expect that kinda hockey all season. Let’s go

It is important to remember that 4th line guys and even AHL players and callups are highly skilled athletes.
