Sheldon Keefe is undefeated when it comes to coaching NHL games overseas. Apparently he’s 5-0
Paul Cotter is on pace for 82 goals and 123 points, Seamus Casey is on pace for 41 rookie goals.
The Devils will contend against the Rangers, the Capitals, and even the Hurricanes for the Metropolitan Division title.
Man, it's tough being a Sabre fan.
Enjoy your success Devs.
i think its great marketing and i wont explain it. continue to boo bettman but the man is a genius.
Devils talkin a lot of smack for 2 games into the regular season and as a team that was the biggest "let down" from last year.
Can't wait for the Rangers vs Devils games now.
You can take the sabres out of Buffalo but you can’t take the Buffalo out of the sabres
What annoys me the devils will play 4 games before the caps play them for their opening game…. seems so stupid
There was a lot of Checking in Czechia! That's why they call that place that name!
Hey I just checked the standings and Buffalo is leading the Atlantic right now
The Sabres preseason record hype really died down quick when they had to play games that actually matter against a team of actual NHL talent from top to bottom. Yeah I'm being that person overreacting and saying this 2 games into the season. Hiring Lindy Ruff and making questionable trades for bottom 6 players doesn't solve the issue that Buffalo has pretty much non existent veteran leadership that every other playoff team has and I don't see where the optimism for this team is coming from.
I love the Global Series games – I just want consistency around the start of the season. Having an international game to start the season is a cool narrative, but sometimes it's the first real game when there's still preseason bullshit like this year, sometimes it's considered preseason even though there's real talent like last year – just make it the start and have the real games starting afterwards without all the preseason games filtering in.
Surprised you didn’t mention the dirty hit that gave Peterka a concussion
I don’t really get the argument against doing them (international games) early. By doing them now the travelling teams can reacclimatize to the NA time zones. If they did them in the middle of the season it could and probably would be argued that the travel demands alone might cause losing skids or problems for teams. If people want to complain about anything it’s a marketing issue – NHL should be making these games accessible and promoting them. Either don’t schedule preseason games for the same days or make it a bigger deal.
It’s not like teams travelling from East-West Coasts, they’re travelling across continents.
I was there for this game, athmosphere waa great like all European NHL games, its fun to meet the north american fans who came all the way to watch.
I'm super grateful for the overseas games because last year I got to see my first live hockey game ever in Melbourne. LA Kings v Arizona Coyotes.
I watched the whole game and honestly Levi was the best Buffalo player on the ice, he alone kept Buffalo within striking distance on the score board for most of the game. None of the 3 Devils goals can be blamed on him.
As a sabres fan I'm counting these as preseason. Regular season starts next week
Having the season open at 1pm est on a friday with no way to stream the game was a poor choice
Westley Streets
@Eck, I have been at the game in Prague and.. as special as it was, it feels like NHL just can't help but trip over themselves when it comes to publicity. The promo was almost non-existent, the possibility of getting any cool merch? Nope, forget it. Special to see the game but NHL could have done so much more.
I don't like the international games at all. Feels like any time the NHL tries to market to new fan bases they do it at the expense of new ones.
Just wish it was on espn
Construction of sabres team top to bottom is horrible nobody knows what they're doing with that organization it's sad for sabre fans
Same ole sorry ass Sabers
Wish these games was easy to watch… Tuesday will be magical
I like the over seas game, always fun to see the game grow
The devils just piss me off because their whole franchise including the play by play guys are so cocky, the devils won’t finish above the rangers and that’s a fact
The sorry sabres once again find new ways to lose. At this point it's a miracle we even still have a franchise in Buffalo
fun seeing the Devils off to such a good start. Levi was looking good and honestly keeping that game afloat for awhile
Maan Casey came out of nowhere for me, he looked fantastic.
I was there game 2, the first was sold out and the second one there werejust a few seats left. It was fantastic, I am glad I got the chance to see NHL live AND my favorite team to win. better atmosphere than I expected.
I am also glad the preseason is still going and Devils will have the time to recover from the trip, the jet lag and stuff. It would be unfair if they are doing this to promote NHL overseas and get punished by tough schedule
anyway, great to see an NHL game, and god damn Casey is a stud at 20yo, what a surprise for me.
L Hughes, Nemec, Casey…. The Devils D is going to be the envy in the league in 1-2 yrs
I don’t wanna burst any devils cup parades, but it’s the buffalo sabres most teams look pretty good when playing them
2:08 Hopefully with the meaningless preseason getting cut to 4 games next season this won't repeat.
Great win by my New Jersey Devils. 👏 WE ARE ONE. MADE IN JERSEY. LFFFFFG
The MLB did the same thing with LA and SD this year and it was just as odd. I wish they would just fix the scheduling so the start of the season actually feels like the start of the season. Ima devils fan so it was real for me but I didn’t want to watch any other games after bc none of them mattered.
Next season the NHL will double down on this concept. Not only will regular season games be happening while the preseason is still going, teams with regular season games in the books will return to preseason games.
If NHL comes to England for a game, I’m there.
I like the overseas games, but they should be a part of the preseason, not the regular season. Now, both of these teams could be scratching for points (probably Buffalo) near the end of the season and other teams will have two games in hand and a possible 4 points that they could jump them with in the end of season standings.
Sabres are killing me. It aucks ha ing to watch other teams for a decade + to get good entertaining hockey
Not to mention it wasn't broadcast in the US outside of MSG/Fubo…pathetic money-grab that left hockey fans not being able to see the 1st games of the season! Plus the tradition of the Cup winners starting out the season was bombed. Do preseason games over there like the NBA is doing – don't start the season there…Very odd.
I dislike these global games. It causes extra stress for the players. Long travel times and overall its kinda pointless. But I get its super cool for the people in these cities.
These overseas games will never be a big deal until theyre actually on network tv and not exiled to NHL Network. Nobody watches NHL Network. It's another example of the league being shit at marketing
Social Media teams should just shut up with the trolling what is this grade 4? Rarely turns out well. Look at Carolina Offersheet to KK troll. Habs fans be like Merci BCP 😅
Been watching Cotter since he was in the AHL for the Silver Knights. The dude is a hard worker and good shooter and was my favorite prospect of the Golden Knights for years. Sucks to see him gone, but I am looking forward to seeing what he can do going forward
One Game was in munich Not Both in Prague
