In no way shape or form should Othman be sent down… he should have been brought up last year. This is a HUGE mistake.
I understand the Othmann decision. He's not a 4th line player and he's not a top 6 player…yet. This is the year that Chytil and Kaako have to make a big jump and they need to be given a chance to play every night on the 3rd line with Cuylle. If Kaako stinks again or if Chytil gets injured, Othmann is a good insurance policy. I don't think Othmann showed enough in the preseason. He had one great game and the rest, he seemed invisible. Let's see how this first month plays out. I predict, Othmann will play a lot of games for the Rangers this year.
I would have liked Othmann on the team roster, now is the time to have him playing on the Rangers team so he can get familiar with the teams play but again we are gonna see players that are not consistent with their job. Vesey to me is not that good as most think he is for his game has gotten slower and he gets caught on breakaways give the prospects the opportunity this team needs change.
I rather Othman in the NHL and Kakko in the AHL…
