I think it's a monumental mistake to send Yak to juniors. He's too good and the only thing he'll develop there are lazy bad habits. Also He's better than JDB. They need to waive JDB goodbye.

I was watching The Hockey Guy youtube channel this morning and he's claiming the Sens sent Yak down because they put in a claim already for another d man. Could be interesting.
Ÿak to junior is the right decision, IMHO. Great camp for the kid and now he can get on with kicking some butt in the WHL.
Ottawa needs an enforcer who can play in the NHL, does Brannstrom fit that role? Maybe in PEEWEE where they are closer to his size. .
100% Yakemchuk needed to go to the minors to develop. Maybe some of us want to see him sooner than later, but that's just not the right option for him or the team.
As a sidenote, the team needs to do well out of the gates. That's just not the right timing for him to even start a couple games.

Well since you posted it’s been stated that Sens didn’t pick up anyone on waivers. I think the fact that you would be needing to play a guy who doesn’t know any of the systems versus Kleven, who may have not been perfect, but wasn’t horrible, knows the systems and has a ton of upside, is the reason they decided not to claim a LD. Personally, I would have liked to see Robertson.
