Cowan wasn’t good

this move was expected. Cowan wasn't quite ready for the NHL so we sent him to the OHL where he will light it up and then play for the Canadian Jr team in December. Plus why burn an entry-level year when you don't need to
He will be a good nhl player when he's ready ..in due time
93 points in the OHL is not super star numbers.. Is it possible we are all over hyping this player? He had a great year but his size makes me feel like his ceiling is a 2nd line winger.
I think next year he will 100% be in the lineup. I get it being sent down at this point. Tons of competition of guys you know what you are getting. The depth is great this year.
Of course he wasn't going to make it…way too young.

Long term, a good decision. At his age playing low minutes could really hurt his confidence and development.

Easton Cowan will get his couple of games as a Leaf when he plays a couple of games as a Leaf! He'll get more development tearing up the OHL, then playing in the World Juniors at Christmas time.
It seems odd to say that no one expected this. Personally I couldn't foreseen any scenario where he makes the team. He moves well shoots well especially for his age but he was constantly bumped off the puck. Putting him on the team would likely create a major set back. Let him rip apart the OHL for another year. If there's a late season emergency can he not be called up after the OHL season is over? But of course let him spend every second in camp how could that set him back.
Mngt had to weigh in the signing of Patch and Lorentz, disappointing but the trade off is worth it
What gives leafs 10 more games to see what fits and what doesn't fits and trades will come but when and who is question mark and leafs are work in progress
Let's face it Cowan is nowhere ready for the NHL
Who actually thought he’d make the team out of camp? That’s the bigger story than this!!
He needs to go down and dominate on both ends not just offense… maybe be a captain as well and go on to world juniors and win a gold

Take a look at that young pimply face. It just wasn't happening this year. For those that say there is nothing left in junior he can take an entire year to add weight and strength for NHL.
Cowan is better to play and develop by playing all the time with the london knights first class team to play for has a great chance to go back and play in memorial cup plus he definitely plays for team canada at world jrs probably cracks leafs roster next season
