  1. Let him go. The roster will struggle for years with lesser talent if they sign him for anything close to that. Greedy…selfish…

I wonder how his teammates feel about him rejecting that offer.

  2. He's asking too much. Trade him by Christmas. Especially if their out of it. They lost with him last 3 yrs, they can lose without him.

  3. Trade him. Look, Igor is great but you could stand to downgrade somewhat for your 1G and finally address some of the other issues that stop this team from getting over the hump, and the net result is probably going to be much better. There are fundamental problems with the rest of the roster that are already hard to fix because of the cap, and to some extent Igor has made up for those deficiencies. But (a) we already know he can't erase those issues to the point where the Rangers break through; (b) those issues will only get worse, and get worse faster, if we tie up this much cap with one player; and (c) he's only going to get older. So making this deal basically guarantees the team's ceiling will continue to be "whatever Igor can do to paper over other problems" and that ceiling will get lower every season.

  4. the highest is 10.5 heck even Georgie makes the playoffs and there is a reason why when you overpay you don't win you can't fill the roster with players you need.

  5. You cannot let one player handcuff your whole team like this. If he doesn't want to be here…. let him go. No more negotiations. He would have been the highest paid goalie in history and he hasn't won a damn thing. A slap in the face. Use the money to improve the defense. Bring up Garand and make him the guy. The team will play hard in front of him.

  6. The Rangers have so many needs. The young talent is taking its time developing while Kreider, Mika, Panarin aren’t getting any younger. Trading Igor gets the Rangers prospects which include blue chip RW, elite defender to ultimately replace Trouba, and talent that will ultimately fill in 3rd and 4th as youth moves up…why not? We’ve seen this scenario with Lundqvist where there was never enough offense to get there in 2013-14.

  7. Either he doesn't care about winning a cup, is the greediest man in history, or just plain doesn't wanna play for the Rangers.

  8. Honestly, he can kick rocks. This is just being greedy on his part. If he signs this deal we are handcuffed for many years to come.
