  1. Shouldn't he be making the same amount as Shesterkin whatever that might end up being?

  2. Just looking at it, it's a great deal. Slightly back-loaded, so it buys out well at any time. Well done, low risk deal.

  3. Most underrated part of the Ullmark saga. Staios turned one of Dorion's many disasters, the DeBrincat trade, into a massive W. Dorion moved the 7th pick (Kevin Korchinski) and a 2nd and 3rd for DeBrincat, who stunk and was a huge loser. dorion turns that huge price tag into essentially a 1st and a warm body in Belleville, before getting fired. Staios takes the shit sandwich Dorion left him and turned that 1st into a bonafide stud starting goalie for the next half decade, while also getting out from a truly dreadful long term nightmare in Korpisalo (thanks again Dorion). Masterclass on how to clean up the mess.

  4. Such clean work by Staios. No drama, no public pressure on the player, nothing. Everyone just woke up one morning and it was a done deal. Masterclass in professionalism.

  5. Jesse I just realized looking at your chart that Bobrovsky is 36, why would they let Anthony Stolarz walk?
I'm a huge Stolarz guy and think he will be the leafs number 1.

  6. Tidy work. Takes out a distraction before game 1 of the season. This core has zero excuses to not perform barring substantial injuries. Can’t wait for puck drop tomorrow.

  7. I strongly disagree that even if Ullmark walked it wouldn’t of been a good deal for the Sens to get Ullmark:

Korpisalo was a disaster last year and to dump his contract would’ve cost close to a 1st on its own. To get Ullmark in that deal while just adding in Kasteic and retaining 25% on Korpisalo was a massive win regardless.

The point is moot now with the extension, but the deal was always a win just to move Korpisalo elsewhere.

  8. Great deal. He’s got some of the best goalie stats in the last 2/3 seasons. He’s legit. The fact that he’s made a career of sharing the net means less mileage too, so hopefully he’ll age better than most number ones
