  1. He'll be okay. If he was playing for Montreal, I would be more concerned. With them, I wouldn't be surprised if a sneeze, lands up causing a broken neck 😉

He seems okay now, thank heavens. Go Calgary Go.

  2. Garden variety hit. Unfortunate outcome, but Rooney needs to be stronger on that play.

  3. Van city 🇨🇦🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈💩💩💩💩💩 city of pronouns and skids

  4. Miller is such a thriller, but I don't think it'd be wise to chant his name after his brutal hit. He literally just knocked the living soul out of him.

  5. Could see that being a suspension. Good to see Roney get off ice partially aware but would be surprised if he's back any time soon.

  6. Can't lay a hit like that 5 ft from the boards. In the middle of the rink, that's great… but that's a boarding minor at least. And then to all the tough guys that are saying aww well yeah it's a good hockey hit… then explain why the Flames are on the PK for jumping in to stick up for their guy. Self policing game right? Stripes won't do it, then we will, right?

Can't eat your cake and have it too. Either take the penalty or let em fight it out and restart even strength.

  7. Just got back from this game, can tell you most people were concerned but the level of trust / love JT has from the fans atm it just went over board.
Not the most classy moment I’ve been part of as a Canucks fan but I hope Rooney is ok.

    Sincerely,
    A remorseful Canucks fan

  8. I was at the game. I honestly believe alot of the chanting came from the near side where fans were completely blind to what had happend. There was zero replay on the jumbotron and we could not even see Rooney lying on the ice. I can understand why some people didn't even know how serious the injury was. Not making excuses, just saying…

  9. Miller chants when the player is still down on the ice is fucking ridiculous

I heard a canucks fan try and justify the Horton hit in 2011 the other day too😂

  10. Preface: no true hockey fan wants to see any player get hurt. That said… Rooney had a choice. Play the puck and take the hit or not touch the puck so that any contact would be illegal. He chose to play the puck making him in possession and eligible for contact. Rooney barely touched the puck, but it was enough to change the path (direction) of the puck. Rooney definately got some blade on it. That was a legal check. What was absolutely disgusting was what #43 did. #43 should've gotten a game misconduct and automatic review. That assault and mugging is absolutely unacceptable. There's nothing that can justify what he did after a legal check. This wasn't a dirty play. Goofball NHL and idiotic officiating!

If you want to support your club, then drop gloves with a participant that also drops gloves. These ridiculous scrums that start with a crosscheck to the head from behind have NO place in hockey.

Give him a game misconduct and a 2 day suspension. Scrums are ruining hockey.

  11. How stupid is getting shorthanded after a clean hit – damn he wasn't even injured by the body check, but by the unfortunate fall.

  12. It's an injury…..to a guy who makes 20x the amount of money as a hard working person, who cares.

  13. It looks like a complete accident. I’m not J.T. So I can’t say that with confidence. But both of them going for the puck, both fighting for it. Off balance. What more could those 2 do it that situation. Just seems unfortunate for Rooney. Hope he gets better and is able to play again.

  14. I don’t like this hit jt had the puck for a sec and it was high and he landed on his head when he was on the ice dirty play I am a huge Canucks fan but never liked miller

  15. Was a hockey collision. Rooney was just off-balance. Clean hit. I hope he is ok. Too bad a player has to fight after a clean hit. Miller stepped up. He is a clean player who respects the game.
