Welp… bit of a **brutal** loss. Largely because of how shook up Barkov looked at the end there desperately trying to prevent the empty netter. Senators came out and bombarded us with a bunch of the shots in the first period and then from then onward pretty much did nothing offensively the rest of the game.

On our end of things, I loved our play in the 3rd period. Forsling brought us within 1 for the final period with a bomb from the point, we led an all-out assault and that stretch from 8min-6min remaining was some incredible play by our boys. Senators skaters were GASSED. Samoskevich should have had a goal on the wrap-around but Ullmark just made a hell of a save. In general, I thought Lundell played poorly and I expect our star forwards to get on the scoresheet sooner rather than later.

It’s hockey. You’re not gonna get undefeated. Props to Ottawa for winning the first Tkachuk Bowl of the season. Stützle’s a stud.

What happened to Barkov? I turned the game off after the 2nd.

  3. Dammit I really thought they were going 82-0.. oh well, we’re gonna have to just settle for 81-1

No but in all seriousness, I really hope Barkov is okay, I think that’s the more concerning part, I ain’t worried about a loss in October.

The loss pales in comparison to the dread felt by a possible Barkov injury

Barkov doing that was absolutely insane. I loved our third period but goddamn what the fuck Sasha.

I hope Captain is ok. Getting injured trying to stop an empty netter in the 2nd game of the season is brutal but i guess that’s the compete level that won us our cup

Loved our play in the second and third period, it’s just tough that we had a rough first period. I’m just worried about Barkov and how long he’s going to be gone

  8. Overall_Walrus_4853

Rough first period but who cares about a loss where we played well 2/3rds of the game. Barkov is the only concern 😰

  9. Forechecking in the 2nd and 3rd gassed the Sens. That’s the kinda stuff we wanna see. Hope Sasha is ok…

Anyone else getting hurt would upset me. But Barkov getting hurt always effects this team extremely. Please please please be not serious

  11. *Please* don’t let Barky be hurt on the second game of the season. Awful outcome.

Look at it this way, we are getting the standard 4-6 week lower body out of the way early for Barky.

Just gotta get Ekblad’s out of the way at some point too.

EDIT: I’m not even saying this in jest, I’m not worried for the season. This happened early, Barky usually heals fast. (Also think of Colorado- they haven’t had their captain for 2 seasons and they still perform well)

I don’t think we even really played that badly tbh this only gloom is Barkov’s injury hope he’s okay that looked really bad

The only thing I’m stressed about is Barky

Sens fan here, I Hope Barkov is okay and y’all are safe down there in Florida ❤️

Sens fan coming in peace. Pretty sure if it weren’t for Ullmark, you guys were taking that game. First off I hope everyone stayed safe during the 2 hurricanes and secondly, I hope Barkov’s injury isn’t as bad as it looked. One of my favourite players to watch.
