It’s hard to be furious about the loss. If Saros plays, Nashville wins. How many posts? Felt like 8…
Those posts…..
We honestly dominated the game. If we can stay disciplined and sharpen our finishing we are going to be in fantastic shape. I like what I saw. We need Saros back and our PK to step up. Loved the fight in the team, saw lots of quality.
Wedgewood sold that so hard
I am not a fan of goal posts.
I know we lost, but holy fuck I’m so excited for this team. We looked absolutely unbelievable. Just thinking about this team in front of Saros is insane
Well, if Wedgewood had done his job I think we would have won that. Defense needs to tighten up a bit but I was happy with the way our offense looked tonight
There’s a lot to like. Great offense. PP 6 on 5. Some good face off numbers but lost a couple late.
great effort tonight
Preds looked good. Wedgewood…not so much
Wedgewood lost us this game. I really hope he gets better as the season goes because those wins are crucial. On another note, we looked really, really good. We could’ve scored 8-9 goals if we finished those easy ones, but rust is expected first game of the season.
This loss felt like a win. Great game. If our guys can stay healthy, this could be a scary team.
This team is going to make a hell of a run. Absolutely electric and doesn’t even have chemistry yet
Oh well, on to Detroit. If the goal was 2 mm wider we’d have won that game
That’s a disappointing loss because we very easily could have and should have won. Not excited for wedgewood but outside of that I’m looking forward to the rest season. The talking head said to give them 15 games to find their gel on the PP and I’ll trust that
Imagine what this team is going to look like with some proper game time. Really liked the way the boys didn’t give up and nearly leveled at the end. HOCKEY IS BACK FOLKS!
A lot to like there. None of those things are the pipes.
FTS
So when Wedgewood plays his former team we get that. Don’t worry though, Lankinen is 100% getting a shutout against us.
That said given how the last two DAL @ NSH games went, this game isn’t anything to get upset about. Season just started.
Can’t be mad about that loss at all. That’s the best I’ve seen us look against the Stars in God knows how long. Transitional defense in the 2nd wasn’t the best, but other than Wedgie selling on some of those goals, I thought we looked great in pretty much every facet of the game.
1st game. No reason to panic. We just played toe to toe with one of the western conference favorites. Shutdown goalie injured. Completely new roster. Lots of posts. My only concern and it’s not really a concern is powerplay %. This powerplay line is too good to go 1/6. But again, first time they all played together, good opponent, nowhere to go but up I think. Go Preds!
If we just take out the 2nd period and pretend it didn’t happen, preds won!

1)Too much post 2)not enough goalie
Hockey is back baby.
Ughhhhhh SO MANY DENTS IN THE POST AND IT’S GAME ONE. PAIN!
81-1 it is. Consider yourselves lucky, Dallas.
Essentially the final preseason game – several posts + Novak’s empty net whiff and this easily could have been 6-4 Preds. Preds of a year ago, being down 4-1 would have been the end of it. I’m stoked for once they build chemistry and get Saros back between the pipes.
Couldn’t catch it but was keeping tabs on the score. Glad the consensus is optimistic – sounds like they had a good showing given the circumstances
Awesome game. Look – the Dallas Stars are favored to win the cup. We look fantastic. 4-3 ain’t bad with a backup tender and against a HOT Mason Marchment.
Love the faceoff battles, the puck play. We just gotta get more in net and we will.
Tighten it up a good bit and get Saros in net and we could have one hell of a season
This one is on Wedgewood who I think still may play for Dallas. I’m happy with our play. We’re going to be fine.
Wedgewood is gonna be an issue this sesson.
As a Tomasino apologist, sooo stoked that there was upside with him in this game. Hopefully he continues to get time in the show and not buried in the minors!
Addendum: I would rather play Hangman with Jeffrey Epstein than have Wedgewood as my goaltender!
There is no team I hate as much as the Dallas fucking Stars.
This season is going to be fun as hell once they start clicking. I was really impressed with Skjei and whatever they said to Tomasino at the end of last season worked because I thought he looked great. Novechkin is back on the menu as well. What a beauty from him.
Wedgewood just needs to go live in Korn’s house for awhile.
At least the Blues are getting shit on tonight by the rookie.
I fully believe if Juice was in net we would have won that easily.
Letting Lankinen walk was probably the only mistake of the off-season
