  1. Game notes:

The Bruins have scored 10 goals in 2 games, but they've also allowed 10 goals in 2 games so it kinda nullifies any good in my opinion.

    Offensive notes:

Amazing game for the offense just in general. All the lines were clicking, the PP was actually productive, and it is genuinely gery nice to see the amount of pressure this offense can create for long stretches of time. Koepke looks so much better over last game, kastelic has been surprising me with just how prominent he is everytime his skates touch the ice, Tufte seems to be working well with Freddy and Braz as well. Glad to see the top 6 actually playing up to their potential as well, thought both 1st an 3nd lines were dominant all game in the offensive zone, and Marchy and Geekie specifically look a lot more settled now than they did last game.

    Defense notes:

What. The. Fuck. Do they exist? The amount of times they just let someone through or have the easiest shot on an open net is baffling. Nobody on this D-core looks even slightly competent defensively and that is very worrying. The Bruins identity has always been a very strong defense, and on paper it's still the case, but so far when put to practice this has been the worst defense from the Bruins I have ever watched in my life. They need to get their shit together.

    Goalie notes:

Sway is obviously not 100% warmed up, I thought when was able to make the save he almost always did. I have faith he'll play much better next game, even if his defense is trash again.

    Closing notes:

I've said many times now I am very very worried about this defense. They really need to improve anything if they not only want to make it to the post-season but to just look competent. Offensively wise the team looks the strongest it's have in years, but if that means we have shit defense than I'd rather not have good offense. The goalies haven't played perfect obviously but imo they've been done so dirty by the defense that I don't think it's fair to judge them off of what we've seen so far. Let's hope Wednesday is a return to form on the back end of the Bruins. Go Bs? GO B'SSSSSSSSS!

  2. The Habs getting calls from the referees? Say it ain't so. I'm nearly sixty and it's been that way all my life. Ref's are recognized in public in Montreal. "Just saying."

  3. Hey man screw the Habs but ease up on Oasis. I just learned how to play Wonderwall and it's a banger.

  4. Great seeing all the kids step up. 4th line was lethal!

But dang, defense coverage was a head scratcher.

  5. Koepke got screwed in TB. We were happy to see him move on and given an opportunity in Boston. Hope Boston starts playing him more than 7 mins a game.

  6. They're a Poitras away from having a hopefully competent third line… still need to fix the 2nd line lol.

If it's me I put Freddy at 2RW, move Geekie down to the third line where he belongs. Plus he had good chemistry with Poitras early on last season, so maybe they can find that again.

  7. I still dont fully trust Freddy at center. I like Beecher centering Freddy and Brazeau, or hell, swap Freddy and Geekie.

  8. The only back door goal was the second goal and there was 2 guys on each side of the net….1st goal was a tip in with useless Carlo unknowingly
You and Carlo are both deteriorating with consistency
Zadorov caused the 4th goal along with a bad line change, Montreal literally dumped it in in front of 2-3 bruins and 1 changed, zadorov was waiting for a new stick from the bench and instead of changing decides to wait then just rush back in to cover what? He was watching the puck and then turned his head and boom pass goal

  10. You also forget that we’ve allowed 10 goals in 2 games….scoring 10 goals in 2 games doesn’t matter

  11. Our big guys were playing exactly how they should, that was fuckin awesome, solid hits, breaking up every single passing lane, poke checks, blocking shots, was a great game for the offence, but I do think we need a bit more skill/speed so Poitras is needed, once we have him and maybe tj, we will have a perfect mix of size, skill, speed, it’s gonna look great.

  12. Beating the montreal tiny tots is always good. But its no reason to start engraving the names on the cup. In a division that got better over the off-season, bs got slower, added a soft goal scorer and paid an unproven goalie so much thier hands are tied in making any additions. Brad had lots of surgeries and is a little slower, and has shown in 2 games he'd rather be moose hunting than hunting down any pucks. Can't blame him, but his edge and sheer unpredictable nature has gone. And it's ok but this is not a playoff team. This is an average nhl team. Middle of the pack and that's because the best goalie tandem is gone and this version hasn't got the sand to become anywhere close to last year. It's a serious downgrade and that's enough to do the damage

  13. I loved this game, the fourth line looked impressive. The only thing that sucks is I have Swayman on my fantasy team so that sucked lol

  14. Cole Koepke looked really good and that 4th line was awesome. So, who goes out when Poitras is ready? And, short of an injury, where does Max Jones fit in? I can see a possible swap out for Tufte. But Brazeau looks very good as well.

I'm just wondering if Bs should trade someone like Geekie to make room for Poitras in top 6. Would also help with cap flexibility.

Bottom 6 looking strong; physical, got some speed and ability to chip in offensively.

  15. McAvoy’s offense was wayyy more noticeable in the 1st period than I recall it from the last couple years, he looks fresh and healthy, and 2 of those goals he was the most mobile guy in the zone.
