  1. Typical Stars game. Start slow, score multiple goals within a quick amount of time, high penalty minutes, ahead by a couple of goals but let the opposing team make it interesting towards the end, Otter (and the posts) cover for the defense, but pull out the win. Just like last year. lol. Might be a good season again!!!

Dumba looked good and confident, blocked a huge one at the end.

    Stank is a Calder contender

Game wasn’t as close as the score indicates, we had a lot of opportunities to score that didn’t fall our way. Good win. Huge for momentum into tomorrow.

I am here for STANKYTIME! Those passes were works of art

  4. I was unable to watch the game (thanks Victory+, thought you’d have every game) but I was able to watch the highlight video. Stank is going to quickly become a crucial piece of our core offense and it shows. The triple threat that is our first line is going to be one of the best in the league if they are able to effectively play defensively, unlike last season

Over under on when Lian gets called up is set at 30 games. I’ll take the under. Lybushkin was awful last night. Weak stick checks, bad positioning, -2 for the evening. Just like pre season. Our D looked beer league last night, almost gave the game away. Saved by the post.

I had no sleep last night, my allergies are destroying me, but its Friday, the Stars are back, and we won our first. I’m in a giddy mood.

The Preds fans are heavily laying into Wedgie after that game, which I think is a bit unwarranted. A few of those goals were on the defense.

Can we please win the cup this year, last year felt like the year, but we fell short somehow

  10. Here’s a question: I’ve been watching since the 2019 post season and a trend I’ve noticed over those seasons is that SOG for the Stars is regularly less than whoever they’re up against, sometimes by half for the majority of the game, and they still get the W more often than not. Are they generally considered to be a conservative shooting team going for quality over quantity, do they just have more shots off target, or is there something else going on? Different coaches and players over the years and it is still what I notice season after season.

Nice way to start the season but PP still needs work. Really miss pavs in front of the net.

  12. Stank looking great. Calder has a lot of great comp this year and I hope he leads the way. Go Stars Go

First Free Talk Friday of the season hits different.

  14. ReachLanky2676

On pace for 82-0 and Mush on pace to get 164 goals. Gonna be a great season!

The game last night wasn’t perfect, but I never expect the first game back to be perfect so whatever. Stankoven looked fantastic – even the national broadcasters couldn’t help but be impressed by his energy and tenacity. And I think it’s super promising to see our top line delivering really strong right out of the gate.

  16. gentleman_bronco

Stankoven on pace for a 246 assist season. Not bad for a second round pick.

JK it was great to see the group get their first W of the season. Lots to improve but overall very good.

HOLY!!!!! WE GOT NEW FLAIRS!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!

  18. OrganicRedditor

Great pics! Especially like Stank with the puck!! Glad Stars won!

No disrespect to the wonderful Joe Pavelski, but last night was just a taste of what we can expect from the top line with three players that can do it all. Stankoven is going to be in for a MONSTER season.

I really hope the plan is to put Borque on Benn and Johnston’s line. Dadonov is such an awkward piece, some nights he drives that line and others he’s completely invisible. I feel like if we got someone a little more consistent in there we can unlock the Benn/Johnston of 2 seasons ago

So happy seeing Robertson for the first time this season! Looks like missing training camp has been good for him again for some reason? Hoping for another 100 point season from him!

  21. Stank the Chaos Goblin deserves an MS paint t shirt akin to Otter and Robo.

  22. Stankoven doing incredible work as a playmaker that game. His zone entry on the third goal was a thing of beauty, crazy to think he’s still technically a rookie.

What do y’all think the lines look like once Bourque gets healthy? Torn between wanting Johnston on the top line and get the Bourque/Stankoven duo back together with Benn, or have Stankoven up top and let Johnston center Benn and Bourque. Not a bad dilemma for DeBoer to have.

  23. Glad hockey is back, but I am so burnt out from work. 50-60 hour weeks suck ass.

  24. Glad-Lock-7405

They looked decent in the first game.

Power play still looks almost exactly like it did during the playoffs. They need to get that fixed

  25. How many years has the #BANG guy been annoying us? Is he at it again this year? And is it pronounced STAN-koven or STANK-ohven?
