People need to relax. Game 2, they have 3 out of 4 points so far. Mika and Miller were horrible but the officiating was even worse. Possibly one of the worst officiated games I have ever seen. On to Monday.

  2. toxicvegeta08

Mikas issue last year is he played bad 1cs really good and good 1cs really bad 5v5.

He just looks shot this year though.

  3. HerDanishDaddyDom

The people that are blaming miller for the OT goal knows fuck all about hockey.

  4. sovietdoppelganger

Trouba and Mika make 16.5 combined … the two are not necessarily better than Ruhwedel and Brodzinski (5v5). That’s this team’s problem

    he’s right you know

I feel like we know what the team is at this point. It’s not game 2 of 82. It’s game 300 something for a lot of this group.

That’s not good or bad, optimistic or pessimistic. It just is what it is. I expect them to be fun to watch this season with some interesting wrinkles but also a lot of what makes you love them and what drives you mad about them.

  7. Hoppy_Smoker

Refs were fucking garbage as usual

  8. glacier_bay

Rangers fans are jumping all over Mika’s head already and we are only two games in. I think Mika is in for a rough ride this season.

  9. TwinkiesForAmerica

Really interesting that a bunch of comments are dogging miller but actually the stats say he had the second best game of all skaters after Fox.

Miller actually had a ton of really good plays tonight so yea, pretty weird to criticize him this much.

  10. NY_Blue

Refs were terrible but we also did a lot of stupid and sloppy shit. Horrible loss.

  11. sovietdoppelganger

Mika needs to lose his place on PP1 to Panarin (Laf plays the left point). Make the Chytil line the de facto second line 5v5. It’s a shame because Kreider and Smith look good. I wonder if we’ll soon see
    Panarin – Chytil – Laf
    Kreider – Trocheck – Smith
    Cuylle – Zib – Kakko
Though id hate to do that to Cuylle and kaapo

  12. Evilmahogany

Have to remember it’s the regular season and it’s okay to loose a game in OT when they outplayed the opponent. Look at the positives, like the Cuylle, Chytil, Kakko line once again outshot (and outscored) their opponents while dominating play. Fox had a 3 point night, Panarin looks like he’s going to continue scoring goals at last years pace, and laf played well. Defensively the team was exposed, but that hopefully won’t be the case for long.

insert « trade for an over 35 former star » post likely incoming after this loss

I don’t have any more coherent thoughts than the word ***frustration.***

80 more games if this shit. We’re back

  16. Key-Tip-7521

It’s the 2nd game of the year. It’s only game. It’s Hockey. Why you heff to be mad?! 82-0 wasn’t gonna happen.

  17. Winter-Ad3699

I expect better goaltending for more than $11 million.

  18. SilentSaidd

We lost like the 2nd game last year too, another really weird game in Columbus with a bunch of overturned goals and look how good last season went. We’ve scored 11 goals in 2 games, even with Mika our 5V5 looks much improved. If we keep scoring 5 goals a game we’re going to be fine, this was just a ref puck game that we fought back to get a point in.

  19. ItsHeadbangerG

Extraordinarily questionable calls cap off a defensively sloppy game. I’d still like someone to explain to me how Rempe engaged in a net battle, back turned to Ingram, who skates up for the clinch is called for incidental contact. I’d be inclined to think if you bumped into Wes leaving MSG, you just might feel an envelope loaded with Bettman-bucks in his pocket.

I think it’s time someone sat Mika down and had a nice long chat about what’s going on with him. Last season he was super inconsistent, and he all but evaporated in the playoffs. Tonight’s showing does not inspire any more confidence. I’ll take limping away with a loser point, but I don’t like it.

    See ya Monday.

Twitter is still a doomer cesspool lol

  22. creepingdeath172

Fuck Wes Mccauley, that is all

  23. 00Anonymous

On the bright side, maybe Igor will reconsider taking the 11+ mill.

  24. sentry_87

You’d think the guy who designed the new MSG score bug would know anything without a shot counter is a fail.

  25. kravdangle

I miss the pre 23-24 Mika.

Just looks like he has zero confidence and it’s upsetting.

But the shit about « SHOULDVE TRADED HIM LAST SUMMER! »

    Just stop it

  26. Wanderlust-Zebra

Wtf happened? Shesterkin just tanked my score today on fantasy

  27. deniavdija8

Mika was a -4 tonight. We scored 5 goals. He is worse than Trouba ever has been

  28. The-Pigeon-Man

Trash officiating but also very sloppy play by us.

  29. chronicbruce27

FYI: Utah has 5 players on the ice on their last rush that eventually led to the OT goal.

  30. dcgirl98

We got 1 point but still lost to the nameless Hockey Club who is now 3-0. 🤦🏽‍♀️. After such a great game against Pittsburgh, I was expecting some dialed in play. I should’ve realized that it’s not Rangers hockey without them working my blood pressure. 🤣 Instead we had sloppy defensive plays and terrible refereeing. But what’s new. Edstrom and Carrick got some great hits in. We can definitely do better but it’s only game 2 of the season. There’s a lot more hockey left. Onto Monday and an original 6 matchup. See ya Monday!
