#Matthew Knies is a Toronto Maple Leaf.
Also, is our defence actually a strength now? Tanev and OEL have been really good.
Keefe – Check
Dubas – Check
Nylandtherals head count
Haven’t played a bad game yet. Also, I can get used to this solid goaltending thing.
Nice for Mitch and Willy. Hoping Matthews can get rolling soon
Fun Saturday night. See you folks on Wednesday for the kings!
Based on a 3 game sample size boy do I love the way the team looks this season.
Matthews just letting the rest of the league get a head start before going for the rocket
Nylanderthals together STRONG
Leafs dominated the penguins from the 2nd period onward. I missed the 1st period. But what a great team effort here.
William Nylander just tied Lanny McDonald for 12th most goals in franchise history.
The vibes are 100% different this season.
Victimize Keefe ✅ Embarrass Dubas ✅
That was one of the more questionable games for the officials in recent memory. Still got 2 points.
I feel bad for Sid.
On pace to go 41-0 at home… I say we do it
First was rough then we played well. Gotta fix this pp though lol. Go leafs go !
Matthews doesn’t even have a hatty yet. Time for an AHL reconditioning stint I think

Through 3, team is looking like a unit. Marc Savard is doing wonders for the PP though… damn boys. It’s brutal. Watching them waste a minute trying to enter, I believe on the 2nd PP was ridiculous to watch.
William Nylander is, in fact, clutch
Dubas ✔️
Keefe ✔️
Stolarz is him 🔥
Yeah Keep Larsson on pp1. With Tavares back that should be the unit
Good game, the goals for Papi will come soon.
Rielly off PP1 and Timmins taking a seat for Liljegren or Myers, please.
Still a few things to work out but I like what I see so far. Feels like a simpler brand of hockey with not too many mistakes made.
3 games in 4 nights is not an easy way to start the season but the boys won 2 of 3 games and only lost the first one by a single goal
Not a bad start to the season at all
The d zone coverage and breakouts are refreshing. We no longer look like a bunch of headless chickens

I am a Nylanderthal.
Edit: People don’t like this video???
Keep Robertson-Domi-Nylander together. Fastest line on the team by a mile.
This was really worth the sleep deprivation. Great game by so many players, especially Marner and OEL.
OEL has looked fantastic
Leafs defended two leads two games in a row and I didn’t clinch my butt cheeks once. Idk how to emotionally process this…
Considering the worst thing about the start of the season has been the power play, I’ve liked what I’ve seen so far. Matthews doesn’t have a single point, too, which means the offense is not at full force yet.
Definitely some room to grow, but I’ve enjoyed the defense and goaltending so far (outside that weird screen from Timmins).
Really shut them down after the first. Suspect reffing kept it close.
It’s nice to not have Samsonov or Campbell in net lol
Next game not until Wednesday, and then Saturday… we were spoiled with 3games in 4nights
LEAFS TOO STRONK AGAIN!!!
Get ready for Knies to be on every single one of these but
Fave players of the game:
Knies, Stolarz, Nylander, Marner, OEL, Domi
Wow played against a young unproven goalie and scored 4 goals!
Marner GWG ◡̈
Dating back to his 69th goal last year, including playoffs, Matthews has just 1 goal on his last 53 shots on goal. I except he’ll go on a heater pretty soon
Knies is so good
Pros:
– Nylander and Marner have finally figured it out.
– Stolarz was great!
– While the PP went 0 for 3, switching Rielly with OEL helped.
– Decent PK.
– Defense was serviceable, especially nearing the end of the 3rd period.
Minor Cons:
– Almost gave up a quick goal after the Pens scored.
– The Leafs have a 3 day break until Wednesday : (
Anyone else briefly forget Bunting was on the Pens at first?
I know we were conditioned by Dubas’s max cap tenure to kind of shy away from term on contracts, opting instead to offer prove it deals and pray the team could use that to make deep playoff runs.
But something about knowing we have guys like OEL and Domi for 4 years is just so damn satisfying. And while the 5/6 years are not ideal, I basically feel the same about Tanev. These guys are here to stay and it makes me feel so much better that the team isn’t just 5 players anymore.
MAX DOMI IS A MAPLE LEAF!!
3 games and 0 points for Matthews, yet he’s a +2 and the Leafs are 2-1 with a goalieng of the ages.
Seems weird.
