Welp. Spencer Knight’s first NHL action since February 2023. We gave him a pretty favorable spot against Buffalo of all teams early in the season and… while the defensive lapses were there, I was hoping for a bit better debut return. Feeling the Stolarz loss this offseason for the first time. Powerplay remains doodoo.

Poor play that entire the 3rd period. Struggled to string together any meaningful time in the Sabres zone which was a 180 from the 3rd period last game vs Ottawa where even if we couldn’t quite score, we were hounding them for solid stretches. Barkov/Tkachuk out hurts but I still expect more.

**Good News:** Bennett is on pace for an 82-goal season.

**Bad News:** Carter is on pace to have a John Scott-sorta scoring season.

Despite the L and way we played, I fully expect us to turn it on for Boston on Monday.

Silly Buffalo…wasted their one good game of hockey a year on game 3 of 82.

Probably a bad take, and I’ll probably get down votes, but is Spencer Knight really the goalie we want to build our future around?

I’m wondering if there’s more players sick than just Matthew?

About what I expected with no Barky and Chucky. Knight and our SEVEN defenders gave it away. Going to be a tough 2-3 weeks, but we showed how good we are opening night so that was awesome and we will be fine. 🙌🐆

  6. Felt like Cats just couldn’t get anything going tonight, the energy and body language was disgusting, next one is Boston and there’s no better team to get back in the win column than them.

Wasn’t a great showing, but it’s only Game 3 of 82. New players still learning the system and getting used to things.

This feels a lot like the 22-23 team. Lots of potential moving in many directions at once and trying to corralled by PoMo
