  1. Oh no they’re getting my hopes up 😭

We definitely still have defense problems, but I haven’t seen us play like this in what’s gotta be five years lmao

  2. Hour_Ad5582

We have an NHL team in Columbus again, fellas…

  3. I’m not a very emotional man… but watching well-coached hockey for the first team in 3 years brings a tear to my eye

  4. evil_caveman

I DIDN’T KNOW WE WERE ALLOWED TO WIN GAMES. WHAT IS THIS FEELING?!?!

  5. Lost_For_Life

I think we might be a bit better than we thought lol

  6. Prudent-Blueberry660

Guardians are going to the ALCS and we beat Colorado! What a damn great day!!!!

  7. hnglmkrnglbrry

Last year we screamed to let the kids play. Well the kids played and the kids scored.

  8. I’m not saying we’re going to be good. I still think we’ll probably be bad. But I do see a lot of improvement through two games we’ve been waiting to see for a while. So that’s exciting!

  9. Tippacanoe

Love to see the boys play like this. All heart and talent. Not giving a shit about who they’re up against. We might not win a billion games but if we’re giving effort like this I’m watching a whole bunch of them.

    For Johnny baby

  10. mytoastisfat

    You guys.

    Dean Evason statue right

    Probably a Waddell one too

  11. thecbjfan

Good fight tonight. Whose player’s birthday is on Tuesday?

  12. sergei-boobtitsky

I really liked what I saw from Pyyhtia, feels good to beat that team especially. Classy move by Marchy to give Monahan that goal, he deserved it after ripping that one off the post earlier

  13. AeroBlack33

That win takes a lot of pressure off of opening days. Great team win. Hopefully signs that this will be a fun team to watch this year.

  14. Total_Light_7885

I️ said it before, and I️’ll say it again:

Yegor Chinakhov has turned into arguably the most complete player on this roster, and he’s only 23. He has made meaningful additions to his game every year he has been in the league.

If he stays healthy, he could one day have an A on his chest and 50+ points a season

  15. Marchenko is the sweetest person ever (we already knew this anyway), the birthday boys got their goals, Johnson is playing with big johnson energy, and we can hold leads LET’S FUCKING GO WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  16. BigRig432

We genuinely look like a completely different team. Incredible how much changed bringing in Evason

  17. SEND_ME_YOUR_CAULK

If it takes OSU losing for the Jackets to be good, I will take it

  18. trothwell55

Great fucking W boys. The kids look good. Fantilli is a friggin animal.

  19. 71Duster360

Thank you HC Evason. The CBJ play like a legitimate NHL team

  20. bjlight1988

Wish I’d watched a ten goal shooting match rather than Ryan Day failing for the umpteenth time against a top 5 opponent

  21. Big_Green_Piccolo

Jackets win, Indians win, but Ohio State blew it.

  22. Imaginary-Field496

Such a awesome valiant effort by our boys, so proud of them and so damn excited for this teams future, you can definitely tell they’re playing with purpose

  23. DabsonFire710

Glad to see them supporting each other on the puck tonight. They definitely locked in for that one. Marchenko is a good teammate for that one. Everyone looked good and we stayed playing north south tonight.

  24. EverlastingEvening

It’s so nice to have this energetic feeling in this sub and for the team again. It’s still early, and we will have bad games but fuck past couple years have been miserable.

  25. raleighkubb

Two games in and this looks to be the most entertaining cbj team I’ve seen in 4 or 5 years.

They get through the neutral zone SO much faster than they have in a while. It’s so nice to not see each rush bog down in the neutral zone and then just dump the pick in.

In the offensive zone they look like they have a plan and aren’t just passing with no purpose until they turn it over.

I’ve seen much less of the neutral zone « drop pass of doom » on the pp. That might make me happiest of all.

  26. Yeah we’re gonna be good this year and y’all kept saying bottom 3

  27. Ms_Irish_muscle

It is genuinely shocking how different of a team this is. I remember when we looked like this before. Lots of grit, effort and chemistry. It got us into the playoffs. I’m not saying this year we will, but this is the sort of identity that historically has given us success. Everybody is buying in and the effort is palpable. Love this team.

  28. DontPokeTheCrab

I just want a competitive team when I go see them a few times this year. If this keeps up, I won’t be disappointed.

  29. SaviorAir

I needed this after Ohio State losing to Oregon….

  30. Another_Guy_In_Ohio

What the heck is that on Monohan’s head? lol

  31. That was a fun game, and I could get used to this whole winning thing. Let’s do some more of that

  32. SteinerFifthLiner

In this house we love and protect Sean Monahan

  33. rowdyginger05

I’m taking this with a grain of salt, but this team is legit better than the hockey world was anticipating. In both of the CBJ’s games I can say with confidence that they look like other teams in the league. They may not contend this year, we may see bad losses at some point, but these guys look well coached. They look like a team. And they look competitive. Hockey in Columbus is fun again.

  34. reallyneedausername2

Welcome to the Soviet Blunion, Monahanov. All I want is good things for him.

Seeing Evason get so jazzed about that win was strangely touching.

More globetrotting from the youngsters, please.

  35. Spyingeagle3

Dean’s 1st win in the union and blue comes on the road, against a Stanley Cup favorite, and a home opener

  36. ItCompiles_ShipIt

There’s a lot of unexpected (to me) good from the first two games (passing looks great, speed, scoring) and some stuff that has to be worked out (defense and goalkeeping.)

Great to get at least 0.500 on the road to start the season.

I think Jack Johnson in both the games failed to clear a puck at a key moment. Against Minnesota, am I remembering correctly it led to a goal?

I think we may have a great coach just based on how the team has come out of the gate in the first two games.

Hopefully a string of home games here will allow us to get off to a great start in the standings.
