As a kid, attending a Sabres game wasn’t complete without a Rob Ray fight.

Hands down, one of my favorite all-time Sabres players ever. 6th all time in the NHL and the Sabres team record in penalty minutes. Fights that influenced many matchups, including those with Tie Domi, Marty McSorley, Steve Webb, Mitch Vukota, Dennis Vial, and many others. His work in the Buffalo area. Plus wearing the A in later seasons. Definitely a big part of the overall legacy of the Sabres.
I spoke with Matty Ellis. He said congrats, but you have to take fewer penalties. Defense has been back in their zone too much and we need to cycle through all four lines.
He should have gotten it just for his help in the community.. he is honestly a great man
